I'm glad that nightmare curse is over, as it seemed to cause a lot of problems among everyone, but I can hardly say that it was the hardest thing we've been doled this month. At least no one was punching anyone anymore, then again, that one was due to a specific brand of stupidity. Really, who decides to punch the deities?

But I think perhaps the hardest is seeing Sam Tyler and Chris Skelton leave the City. They shall be missed.

Left on Cameron Lynde's desk, with a note: Det. Tyler asked for the report, figured you would want it, as it might be especially useful now.

In the beginning, the Special Task Force was organized through the Captain of the Ankh-Morpork Night Watch. Our first recruit volunteered due to his proficiency in a unique sort of strength. He was taken on as a permanent member of the Task Force because of this, as well as his specific knowledge of magical containment. He was sworn in, and given a run-down of the basic rules of being on the force. He showed willing time and time again to show up when we needed him for his talents, or sometimes when we just needed an extra hand.

After we saw that he worked out well in our force, we let it be known that we would be willing to hire someone up in the special forces unit. In cases where there were helpful people that we felt could help us with something we were missing, and were actually interested in assisting us, as opposed to taking us down from the inside, we went through the same process as the full-time officers.

They receive the same pay as a starting lance-constable, but only on the days that they work. If they show good progress, repeated help, or an extreme assist when needed, then they might ascend rank, no higher than Corporal.

Most of the Special Task Force were not needed for emergency purposes, and could be contacted by traditional messages. In case of emergency, however, there was a clacks system method that set off a message to certain guards with bells who would run around alerting anyone in the immediate area who was trained, that they were needed.

[OoC: She's not mentioning that Sam and Chris were Police Force because she doesn't want the general public to know that the force is low. Also, pretend that the report goes on, and is more in-depth, because this is lacking as I really only remember the Librarian, Downspout, and Swires from the task force.]
