cons is off to the vet and i might have sore eyes

I was supposed to go watch the BP show this morning but I woke up with itchy red eyes and I hope they're just being their usual sensitive selves and I hadn't been contaged (hehe) by my officemate whose kids are blind from sore eyes. Spent the morning so far trying not to scratch myself. Meanwhile, Constantine was asleep on my lap. He was so sound asleep that I actually got up, walked around carrying him like a baby, and sat back down again, and the dog didn't even stir or anything. I looked in the mirror, he's so cute.

Now, Constantine is off to the vet with my Dad and Jacqui to have his eyes checked. Ever since he got here, he's been excreting lots of eye muck and pawing at his eyes relentlessly. Mikah said it could be because his hair gets into his eyes but we've shorn him already and he's still pawing. Maybe we have the same thing, because my reds are subsiding and I'm doubting they're sore after all. Anyway, I hope the visit to the vet will be good.

Now on to non-puppy news.

Last night was a relaxed night and I went with Mikah to an impromptu jazz gig for an office xmas party with a Roaring 20s theme. It was a bunch of sessioners with Myra, whom I haven't seen in the longest time. I'm absolutely kicking myself because I didn't have a camera and she looked sooooo gorgeous in her red dress with the fringes that flew when she shimmied. I love watching her sing, it's really been a while.

Proof that it's been a while, as the band started playing their first song - an instrumental I've Got Rhythm - she asked me if Mikah and I were together and apologized for her directness with "You know me." It's nice to see that some people don't change, especially the parts of them you like so much.

There were supposed to be a slow Christmas song and a ballad (That's All) in the set, but they decided to keep the tempo up because people started dancing. I'm glad that they did because it was a crowd that wasn't really interested in watching a band. Anyway, they had dance instructors getting the employees and managers up on the floor dancing with them, and I always found that sort of thing really fun. To watch, I mean, since I don't go for that sort of thing myself. And to a live (very talented) band too.

Funny bit. When we arrived, a nice lady said to us, "Are you the dance people?" Hahahahaha. The entire night, I teased Mikah, "Haha, you look like a D.I." I guess he does, kind of, with that pang-romansa vibe going. He did look more dashing than the dance instructors who finally did show up. I imagine matronas showering him with money, pleading him to teach them the finer arts of luuuurv.

Yeah, Mikah could quit his day job.

gaaa!, mutts, music
