Yay! Oh, I'm so happy you liked it! Thank you! It was weird to write him as a kid, but interesting. Mrs. Mulder's making breakfast, well in my experience, after a loss or a trauma, you tend to stick to the mundane to keep yourself together, which is why I wanted this succession of routine tasks. Joss Whedon showed this better than anybody in his Buffy episode "The Body".

Oooh, this is angry and bitter and very in-character. I can definitely picture it all happening like this, although your theory re: who actually made the choice isn't one I'd considered before this.

Eeh, it wasn't a happy story, that's for sure! I'm glad you thought it was believable, as I was really going into unknown territory here. This choice issue had always been bugging me. This is one of the thing I wanted to address here.

I hope you mean painful in a good way. ;-) Wow, I'm thrilled my story had this kind of an impact on you. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Oh, yes, very good! (: I've never read a fic before that focused on Mrs Mulder or dealt with the time right after Samantha's abduction. I'm still new to XF fanfic, though; I grew up with the series but never was part of anything online related.

There are a few fics around where Mrs. Mulder is the main focus, but I think they mostly deal with her relation with the Cigarette Smoking Man. But she's not what you'd call a popular fanfic character, that's for sure.

Oh, if you're new to X-F fanfic, you're in for a treat. The X-Files fanfiction world is gigantic! It's the Kraken of this fandom! *laugh* And there are a lot of very talented writers around. If you tell me what you like I can give you some pointers. Or you can go and check the archives of the xf-book-club (click on the link "fic discussion masterpost".)

Oh, so bleak - so rightly bleak and bitter. The Mulders have got to be one of the most messed-up families on TV.

Beautifully done.

Aw, thank you so much! Yeah, seeing adult Mulder and what we saw of his parents, it wasn't that much of a stretch to imagine All Was Not Well At Home.
