A few weeks ago I bought my first Kindle and I simply adore it. Mainly because it allows me to catch up with a bunch of fanfics I either read and forgot about, or heard so much about I thought I must have read them and then forgotten about, or fic that I completely missed altogether. My fic knowledge is extremely outdated considering that, barring a few exceptions, I haven't read anything new since circa 2002. So I'm delighted to finally have a tool that allows me to read without feeling my eyeballs fry and shrink in the back of my skull, which is what reading on a laptop feels like these days.
And this is how I finally got round to reading the extremely awesome
Life During Wartime by Cofax, Marasmus, Maria Nicole and Fialka. Probably the best post col fic I've ever read, even if I didn't buy the ending.
I'm currently working my way through the works of Julie Fortune thanks to
amyhit. I'm about to start Fata Morgana. She's a good solid writer. Very much in tune with X-F Canon.
Next on my list are:
The Mill by Cofax
Stranger and the Strange Dead by Kipler
This House is Burning by Tesla
Up The Ladder by Rivka T
The Sin Eater by Jane Mortimer
Nights Giving off Flames by JET
The
xf_book_club is really a treasure trove of great classic X-Files fanfictions. I've bookmarked the first page and intend to work my way through as many stories as I can. With 183 archived this should keep me busy for a while. Then I will probably move to TWOP "Mulder She Wrote" as the people there seem to have better taste in fics than...you know, some other places. *shit eating grin*
What do you mean I can also read *real* books on a Kindle? Srsly? Naaaah.
