To my dismay, the tiny Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon section of the Pit is dominated by blubbery, Rei/Minako (Mars/Venus) fic. In PGSM, the live action Sailor Moon series, Minako's story is tragic, but this fic is downright weepy:

What makes me sad is I can bet there were bunches of comments saying how wonderful and touching it was.

It touched me in bad places. D:

There were only three reviews, but sadly, yes. One even said the fic made them cry.

I cling to you for hope. We have different interps of things sometimes, but yours always make sense and it's fun to just discuss them. I don't have to beat myself to death by headdesking like I do with some of this stuff. XD

Well, things should be open in fic and RP; that's what makes them fun! But some things are obviously OOC, and when we love the characters involved, it's downright painful.

Absolutely. There's a difference between interpretation or development, and painfully not-that-character-anymore.

Edit for example: You could get those two to put aside some of the pride, or even get together (especially as both of them scrambling for the wedding bouquet in special act shows there is part of them that wants a good relationship) - but it'd never be gushy, really. That's just not in their makeup. They took care of each other by tough love and meeting each other's needs without really discussing it or getting all warm and close about it.
