[Edward was putting the last touches on a lawn sculpture in the hedge garden when a man dressed in blue jeans and a blue polo enters the picture. He looks exactly like Edward only that he's not scarred, every hair is in place and has the confidence of a businessman.]
Really, you need to sell your work. This is great! But you know, I don't think

Hey! Robert, isn't it? What the hell's wrong with you?
Reply
I don't know who you are, lady, but you need to stay out of this.
[Edward had stopped and turned around when he heard her voice. He's heard her before but he didn't have her name.]
I'm sorry.
[Robert heard Edward's voice and scoffed.]
He's sorry. He's a pathetic waste of life!
[From the window in Sheldon's room, or what came from that general direction, a water balloon hit Robert on the side of his head and a kid's voice screaming out with a slingshot in his hand.]
Keep it down! You're too loud! Sheesh....inconsiderate people.
[Robert's now drenched and in shock but he hasn't said anything. Edward is in equal shock only his brow is raised in what appears to be slight embarrassment.]

Why should I? You're shouting at him loud enough to wake a giant. Not to mention what you're shouting is completely uncalled for!
[Even though she's never actually met Edward before, she can't accept bullying or harrasment in any shape or form.
When a water balloon from one of the upstairs windows suddenly hits Robert, she instantly jumps back for fear of getting splashed. However, when she see's she hasn't been, she smiles in somewhat triumph, and takes Edwards arm gently]
Come on, let's get you away from here

Edward wasn't expecting her to take his arm and he nearly flinched.]
You don't like water?
[He didn't like it only because he would rust even if he thought it was pretty to look at. It was still a dangerous element to him.]
I can't breathe in it.

No, I don't - I'm apparently allergic to it.

I'm sorry.
[He could also be referring to the water since he's not able to go near it either.]
It doesn't like me either.
[Then he remembers the water bed incident.]
Water beds don't like me. They spit.

Well, I never quite saw the point of water beds anyway - when I sleep I like to be quiet and still, not on the open seas..

Like the barns? The hay smells nice. My father made one for me.

I guess so, yeah

[He smiled at the memory even though he didn't have much else but the books and his bed. Everything else was gone.]

[He liked anything natural so that was a bias on his part in some ways.]
I like the moon and the night. The quiet...makes it easier to see and hear.

Hey..if I'm alright asking, how did your hands get to be like that? It's okay if you don't want to tell me

My father. I was made like this by my father. He didn't finish. He died before he could.
[There was a whole lot more than just his hands that needed to be finished but thankfully none of that was seen outwardly. He was far from human in the physical and the physiological sense. He was still a machine only he had a heart and a brain that was only human.
He looked at his hands and looked up at the sky.]
He loved me. I miss him.

I know the feeling...

[He goes back to trimming the hedges feeling much more content than he had before.]
