Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas || Chapter 2 || [Action]

[When Castle wakes up he's immediately aware that the sheets on the bed are a bit more luxurious than he's grown used to. Not to say that his sheets aren't nice, these are just...strangely more crisp, and the blanket is much more cozy. He does recognize the room, but it's not his room at the Manor, he sits up and glances around. Its one of many ( Read more... )

[Okay so John has never been to New York before. So when he woke up in this-- stupidly fancy hotel, coincidentally the same one Castle was staying in, he's sort of confused but excited.]

[And that's what leads him to be in the hallway when Castle is humming Frosty the Snowman, and he nearly collides with the taller man scampering down the hallway to get to one of the windows and have a look around.]

Oh-- geez, sorry! Definitely not watching where I'm going, gosh.

[Imagine if you will the chorus of Frosty the Snowman being whistled and SUDDENLY it's a high pitched squeal and, followed by a raspy gush of air in the form of an 'oomph'. That would be pretty much the EXACT sound Castle just made when his whistling gets abruptly cut off by the boy who just ran into him. He blinks dazed for just a second as he tries to collect himself.]

It's alright. I wasn't exactly paying attention myself.

[In his excitement, John has sort of forgotten to keep his feet on the ground like a normal teenager. So when he sort of giggles, awkwardly, and dusts himself off from crashing into Castle and then continuing right along, he's ...floating. Approximately two inches off the ground.]

Are we in New York? [He very obviously doesn't seem to notice this, though. And he's definitely more excited about the New York thing.]

[That is interesting, floating kid. He nearly missed that as John moves away.]

I believe so.

[He floats from side to side sort of idly, like one might shift their weight from one foot to the other. He hums in thought.]

Neat! What sort of stuff do you write?

[Castle's head tilts just a bit as he watches.]

Mysteries, with detectives and dead bodies...

[He sort of can't sit still. ...er, float still.]

So like CSI kind of stuff?

[Castle tilts his head the other direction. He kinda wishes he could do that.]

Basically. I tend to lean more toward the more criminal aspect of things, but yes.

[John finally notices that Castle's giving him a funny look, and pauses, realizing he's floating.]

Oh!! Geez, whoops. [He sinks to the ground and stands, rocking from his toes to his heels.] I sorta forget that floating isn't a thing most teenagers do. But that sounds really neat, do you have any of them with you?

[And look he looks almost disappointed that you stopped. Ah well.]

It's the Manor, things that happen around here aren't exactly normal as it is, I was more upset that I couldn't do it. I did spend a week as a balloon creature once though, long story. I think there are some copies in the Library, back at the Manor so once we're home you can check it out.

Heheheh, yeah I guess so. I was a Minun for a week, and then there was the whole fish thing. I think I like New York better. I'll look for it when we get back.

... [He considers Castle for a minute.] I could probably pick you up, if you wanted.

The fish thing was definitely interesting. I definitely like New York best. It's home. [And with some luck it is home, but with the way things go around here he's starting to doubt that.]

...[He blinks a couple of times and laughs.] I might take you up on that, but I've got a few things to do first. Maybe when I get back.

Well welcome home, then! I lived in Washington before things got weird and my life turned into a video game. And then the Manor. [Frowns a little.]

Sure, yeah. [:)]

Thank you. [He arches a brow.] A video game, huh? That has to be pretty interesting.. [Castle nods.] Thanks kid, I look forward to it.
