[When Castle wakes up he's immediately aware that the sheets on the bed are a bit more luxurious than he's grown used to. Not to say that his sheets aren't nice, these are just...strangely more crisp, and the blanket is much more cozy. He does recognize the room, but it's not his room at the Manor, he sits up and glances around. Its one of many ( Read more... )

[One can almost hear his interest peak before he turns his attentions back to the situation at hand. Since he didn't experience anything that the others had the previous weeks, he's a bit clueless. Typical Tom.]

Um, what's so special about that? It's just another day of snow.

[Someone hasn't noticed anything yet.]

[Obnoxious whistling cuts off and the grin can be heard in his voice.]

The rooms. This isn't the Manor, its a hotel. I want to get out and check it out.

[Now it hits him in the form of a pause.]

Holy hockey pucks!

[The sound of curtains thrust apart is heard and a hand slapping on the glass.]

It's...wait, something's off...

[Castle waaaaaaaits for it..Ah.. there it is..]

Something is right. It's New York isn't it?

[He hasn't even looked he's going simply on instinct and familiarity with the room setting.]

[Now is the time to be logical.]

Look, let's figure this out in the least painless way possible. Is it 1989?

[Just looking at the time stamp is proof of that.]

No. It's not.

[God he hopes it's not 1989, he had terrible hair in 1989, embarrassing... Mortifying even.]

Okay. I come from 1989 so why would I be here if it's the New York that you k know?

[Leave it to Tom to be the rain on someone's parade. Sorry, Castle. He's a natural jerk.]

[If only you cold see his face.

And the silence stretches out for a niiiiice long while.]

That doesn't mean that it couldn't be my New York for me, and your New York for you.

[Pardon Castle, he's prone to fantasy, and wild ideas.]

[Another pause and a tongue clicking sound.]

Right. I'm not saying that's wrong but we're not home. This means that if we still have these devices and we're still meshed between time then that would mean that we're not in any form or logical reality. Think about it.

[He doesn't want to think about it, OKAY!]

And maybe they'll quit working once we go outside..............

[There's a smirk in his tone.]

Why don't you go outside and find out. Let me know how that goes.

I can't. I'm waiting for Beckett...

[Quit ruining his excitement with your LOGIC!]

[Clueless to who Beckett is, Tom has a lot of catching up to do but for now, he'll leave it be.]

Okie dokey, whatever you say chief.

[That's better, a small victory in Castle's mind. If it hasn't happened then it isn't real, and that means there's still a chance he's right.]

I don't know how these things work, but that is home out there.

[He's so determined. And stubbornly hopeful.]

[He had a feeling that arguing wasn't going to solve this issue no matter if he was right or not. Tom knew better and in this case, it was better to let the other person figure it out than trying to lead him toward a solid conclusion.]

Okay, sure, whatever you say.

[Tom has a strange feeling that it's going to wind up as a "I told you so," moment but he'll leave it to the other to draw his own conclusions. Tom was smart enough not to put his face on the network so all the better for him later on.]

At least no one can get hurt here, right? No monsters...I hope.

[He still keeps an eye out for that since Albert Fish and that incident was horrible.]

[Castle is being stupidly hopeful, he has a daughter back home, he wants to get back to her. He'll find out soon enough. For now? He's inspired by the spirit of Christmas, and excited at the prospect of getting out of this.]

Oh, if it's New York, as I'm sure you know, there are plenty of 'monsters' out there.
