7th Jewel Seed [Action, Outside]

[If you've been paying any attention to Fate what she's doing right now is fairly typical. It's early in the morning, and even if it is starting to get chilly, that means she's training. It's a little bit more difficult than usual for her, because she doesn't have her familiar, but she'll make do. The nine-year old is swooping and dodging things in ( Read more... )

*he almost doesn't notice, so concentrated he is on holding his power in still a little sensitive after Silent Hill, but as he gets absorbed in his notes he relaxes his hold until he's subconsciously reaching out to check on everyone he knows in the manor, an old habit from when he and Raven would children.

Fate perks his interest, and he sets aside his journal as he finds a window he can look out of that would be close enough to her. What he sees is both amazing, and alarming.

Worried, he focuses his power until Fate is the brighter sense in his mind, and reaches out*

Fate?

*meanwhile, he's going to be making his way out of the manor and towards where she's training*

[Fate is just standing there, breathing a bit heavily.] I'm fine, I've just been training more frequently lately. [Read as: it's the only thing she can think of to do with herself during downtime. Because clearly she can't do nothing and rest, that would be silly.]

You shouldn't push yourself so hard, you could hurt yourself.

*he's jogging up, only mildly out of breath. Hmm, he needs to start running again, or else he's going to be out of shape*

I know exactly what I am doing, and Bardiche would warn me if I were cutting my reserves dangerously low. [Because if she's not pushing herself so hard... Well, maybe if she gets better, if she gets stronger, her mother will take her back.]

No, even you need regular rest, I promise. In fact, pushing yourself too hard is likely to set back your training in the long run. *he's a professor, he knows dese tings*

[That gets such a lineface.] I have been resting regularly. [...for her old training routine, anyway.]

*he switches to vocal communication as soon as he's close enough*

I guarantee you won't be able to comfortable walk back to the manor for some time yet.

*there's a patient, almost fond amusement*

[And there's where you would be wrong. She's not going to comment, just going to prove you wrong silently.]

*you're shaking. But, alas, abrupt conversation shift! He recognizes her stubborn will, and is determined to get her to rest a bit before attempting to walk anywhere*

That's impressive, though. Have you always been able to do that? *nods at the air*

Yes. I am a mage, after all. [She's shaking, but she's also nothing if not determined. ...see also: sealing a Jewel Seed with her bare hands. Acts of incredible stubbornness, go.]

I admit, other than the little I've seen in your mind I don't know a whole lot about mages. *he has a seat on the grass*

Will you tell me?

[Fate is still walking back to the Manor.] If you're willing to walk and talk, yes.

Is it so terrible to sit and talk with me for a few minutes? *and now there's a sense of hurt coming from him. He's mentally pouting, and she gets the sense that he thinks maybe it's him that she doesn't want to be around*

[That gets her to pause for a moment.] Outside, yes. In case it's escaped your notice, it's kind of cold out here and if I don't keep moving my muscles will cramp up.

No, no, I understand completely. By all means. I'll just...sit out here.

*he will, however, be monitoring her for any sign that she's going to fall over. If she wants to be stubborn, she can be stubborn, by he'll be damned if she's overexerts herself on the way back and ends up stuck without immediate help*

[Clearly Charles is underestimating her. She's keenly aware of exactly where her limits are when Arf isn't around to help pick her up or patch her up. As soon as she gets inside, though, she is going to sit down in the nearest seat.]
