[In Person]

[As for a certain detective? Well, last night was the first quiet night in a while for a lot of people, and the Detective Duo were no exception; between injuries and exhaustion, they've crashed hard.]

[This morning, on the couch in the main hall? Saguru and Heiji are both passed out; Saguru sprawled on the couch and Heiji draped over him and the ( Read more... )

[Adorable, really. He'd comment to that effect, but schadenfreude (or at least open schadenfreude) never ends well in the Manor. He debates taking a photo, but he'd rather not deal with backlash considering his own wardrobe has been replaced with an assortment of clamshell bras, shimmering fish tails and leotards with butterfly wings sewn on the back. The dress had been bad enough. He checks the time on his watch, debating whether or not it's appropriate to wake them up. Borrowing some normal clothes would be nice, and really? He's doing them a favor; they're a sight to behold like this.]

[Plopping down on the arm of the couch, sort of a safe distance away from Saguru's other arm.]

Rough week?

[There may be some slight amusement in that tone.]

[That bleary half-awake "something ain't right" state? ...Light pretty much kicked that into "WELL HI THERE" mode, enough for the very fast and jarring inventory that they'd both passed out and Light was now ... well, at least someone was entertained.]

[So of course, he's going to look over blearily and ... just ... hit the long-suffering deadpan. At least Saguru is well used to humor being taken at his dignity's expense.]

Two and a half weeks, actually.

[Saguru's response makes him raise an eyebrow. Truthfully, it does considerably more than that, but that's all Light's willing to do visibly. Internally, there's a good deal of cursing the Author to oblivion. He gets off the couch to give the pair more room to untangle themselves now that they're awake. Alternatively, they could stay that way too. Light doesn't care.]

The Author being her usual charmless self? It's nice to know that nothing changes here.

[There's a small laugh-- why yes, Light is still playing nonchalant, but the bitterness isn't particularly well hidden.]

Good morning by the way, Hakuba. And if I'm not mistaken, Hattori, correct?

[Hakuba is ...sitting up and straightening his hat and coat. He was pretty sure he hadn't been wearing it when he fell asleep ... but considering Light's outfit and Heiji's new additions, he's just going to count himself lucky.]

Good morning. [The secret of Hakuba's relative maintenance of his dignity: dusting off as if nothing happened when he gets humiliated.]

Basically, yes. I'd like to think that this is a signal that the worst is over, but I don't think I'm going to drop my guard until Halloween itself is over.

[Clumsy and grouchy. Light will remember to stay away from Hattori in the mornings. But he will inquire after his condition politely.]

Are you okay?

[Light doesn't necessarily care what the answer to that question is, it's mostly reflex that he asked anyway.]

I'd say that's a good idea. Might be best to have a support network in place for when the worst does hit. [Giving both of them a second curious glance over. He may or may not be insinuating anything there.]

Actually, since I'm sure you must both be exhausted [Not that Light would know~, he's feeling quite well rested] I'll make this short. Do you have a spare set of clothes I might be able to borrow for the week? The Author seems to have taken some creative liberty with my closet.
