25th bomb || Hayato Gokudera || [in person]

Sep 19, 2011 16:20

[At some time early in the morning, Hayato had very tentatively made his way into the kitchen with the goal of taking a weeks worth of canned goods and hoarding them in his room. After some rather unpleasant encounters last week he wanted to avoid contact with people as much as he could. The teen was SORELY disappointed to discover that all canned ( Read more... )

[Oh, hey there. Ryuutaro walks in, dressed in -gasp- actual Western male fairytale clothing, because he doesn't really have a choice. Make-up is on though and he somehow even managed to make those clothes look kind of female. He's talented like that.

Seeing Gokudera a) beaten up and b) kind of shirtless was usual by now. Ryuutaro smiles at him]

Good morning.

[Oh god, at least ONE person he likes talking to in this place. He puts down the orange he's examining and smiles at his friend]

Hey, mornin'.

[he starts peeling the orange and pulls it in half, placing it at the seat next to him for Ryuutaro, should he decide to sit down and eat.]

Hungry?

That's the reason I'm in the kitchen in first place.

[Ryuutaro smirks as he sits down, but it's a friendly type of smirk. His irony might stay, but it's not really condescending with Hayato anymore.]

Thank you.

[And here he is. Actually eating. And he doesn't even hear fate ringing in his ears]

[The teen smiles and digs into the orange himself. Seeing one of the VERY FEW people that actually made him happy to be around sort of made this whole ordeal suck less.]

Well at least there doesn't seem to be anything horrendously dangerous so far... at least not that I've seen.

[...and that's when he noticed something strange. There was a light flutter in the pit of his stomach, like he was excited or happy... but he couldn't quite put his finger on what...]

[And for a moment Ryuutaro just looks at Hayato as if he's seeing him for the first time. This was the same person, still the same room, the same him... but something just felt different.
Ryuutaro brushes it off, smiling]

'So far' is the keyword I'm afraid. But at least there is a chance of this being a harmless plot. We shouldn't give up hope.

NEW ICON JUST FOR THIS. killer_melon September 19 2011, 22:00:45 UTC
Well it's not like you got anything to worryabout. I'll watch your back.

[Hayato smiles as well, and goes to take another piece of his orange on the table when his hand brushes against Ryuutaro's. His heart skips a beat, and he pulls his hand back, his cheeks lighting up a deep shade of crimson]

S-sorry!

[Okay, what was going on here anymore? It wasn't unusual that this touch felt okay with him, Hayato had been allowed to touch him for quite a while after all, but now even the usual urge to twitch is missing.
It was just brushing of hands, nothing unusual and Ryuutaro probably wouldn't have thought about it any longer, if it hadn't been for Hayato's blushing]

Is something the matter?

[Hayato looks up to Ryuutaro's face for a moment and his blush deepens. Ryuutaro was... really cute. He couldn't believe his own thoughts at the moment. He didn't think he was into... what was this... he couldn't even wrap his brain around it. Eventually he has to look off to the side, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck]

N-nothin'! I-i-it's nothin'!

It doesn't look like nothing though.

[Because you confuse him right now. In combination with him confusing himself a little bit, that makes for a great amount of unsureness here. Ryuutaro doesn't show it though. Maybe his voice is a little less steady as usually, but that's all. Nothing has changed after all, why would it, how could it even?]

It's just a little warm in here is all...

[And he takes another bite of his orange, just to keep his mouth full so he doesn't have to speak for a moment. His eyes wander back to Ryuutaro's face again, more specifically the younger boy's lips. Their faces were mere feet apart. His heart felt like it was going to pound out of his chest. He was nervous.... he was suddenly so afraid of getting disapproval from Ryuutaro, so he couldn't just say anything... but ( ... )

[Warm....? No, no it's not. Ryuutaro was sure that they figured out multiple times already that he was the one to react to heat, while Hayato was sensitive to cold.
Ryuutaro just silently watched Hayato for a while. This sudden change of mood that seemed to have come over them both felt awkward.
Even though they were as close as always suddenly it felt like they separated by unspoken confusion.
Ryuutaro didn't like it. He liked it even less than he usually would.

And so he leans over a bit more, just a bit really, being as oblivious as a person could possibly be.]

And at this point I thought high temperatures would make you happy not irrationally sad.

[Even though from past experiences he knew that digging into Hayato's personal business wasn't the greatest of ideas, he couldn't help but really want to know what was going on. He cared. A lot.]

M-maybe I just got a fever or somethin'. It's not big-

[And just as he looked up, Ryuutaro was just that much closer. His heart skipped a beat and his breath hitched in his throat causing him to pause, and once again just gazes over his friend's face. It takes him a moment to force a smile and swallow the lump in his throat before he can continue speaking.]

It's no big deal! Don't worry about it!

A lot of things are no big deal to you.

[And by now you should know how much Ryuutaro hates when you say this. And if Ryuutaro dislikes something... it results in a fan-shush]

If you're not feeling well you should lay down after breakfast.

[He jumps a little at the sudden contact from the item, swallowing the lump in his throat again before he managed to shakily stammer out his words. At least Ryuutaro seemed to be buying the story that he's not feeling well]

R-Right... yeah... I-I'll do that...

[No "I've had worse", no "It's fine, I'll be alright", no changing the subject to something else... that was Gokudera just obediently agreeing to look after himself while not on his deathbed]

[Ryuutaro hadn't actually been buying it before, but went along with it because it seemed so much easier than dealing with whatever crazy matter there really was at hand. But this just startled him too much. He takes the fan back, feeling a bit of anger rising in his chest. He pushed it down, what reason did he have to be? They both had their problems and things they didn't want to talk about and respecting those mostly was important.... but this just felt so different.
For a moment Ryuutaro says nothing, just looks at Hayato with an a-bit-too-serious expression. Then his fan suddenly opens and he smiles, fakely]

Amazing how a little fever can bring you down so much. Last time I checked, you were 'perfectly fine' even though wrapped in bandages.
I should probably take this as a good sign. Not for a second I'd belief you could be lying to me.

[Every word Ryuutaro speaks just seems to make Gokudera shrink a little more, until he was slouched over defensively just intently staring at his hands on the table. He could feel his stomach tie up in a knot, and his heart sink. Great. Now his friend was mad at him.

And he had a right to be... he was lying to him. He was betraying his friends trust because he selfishly is too afraid to risk their friendship by telling Ryuutaro something he deserved to know.]

M-maybe I-I should just lay down right now.

[and the teen very clumsily stands up, almost knocking the chair over, and turns to leave. Just running away from his problems like he always does... When did he become such a coward?]
