[If you're out in the halls early Monday, there's a new arrival on the prowl and a little on edge - he's keeping quiet while he's exploring the halls on alert, but while his hands aren't visible under the black half-cape he's wearing, the visible end of the sword scabbard peeking out is shifting a bit and definitely not completely at rest.]

[Tris is trying to navigate her way outside with both a dragon-creature that really doesn't fit well in a hallway... and an extremely pissed glass dragon. It's to the point where Tris has Chime on a 'leash' of sorts, a line of thin lightning going from Chime to Tris's hand. The Rayquaza, at least, doesn't seem bothered by Chime's antics.]

HAVE SOME LOGICAL YET MOSTLY WRONG CONCLUSIONS. crowspetfox September 5 2011, 22:14:53 UTC
[Well, running into what seems to be another summoner is - not really a comfort whether they're one of the responsible parties or someone else trapped here. With the leash, the little one can't be a mentor; the big dragon looks on par with Vritra or Kohryu, which means someone about his age who's both capable of calling something like that and keeping some track of two at once, even if the little glass dragon didn't seem entirely cooperative.]

[With his normal summons sealed besides the strange bird that'd been here when he arrived, he's really hoping Tris isn't an enemy.]

...Ah, excuse me?

[He's stopping at a respectful distance and opting for "cautiously polite".]

[Tris is stopping; the Rayquaza, at least, for all of its size, is well-behaved, unlike a certain glass headache that is grumbling.] Yes? [She's not completely without manners, though it is fairly clear that she wants to get the Rayquaza outside an hour ago.]

[It's a perfectly reasonable goal, aand luckily he's patient, if still a bit jumpy/not sure if he's talking to friend or foe. She doesn't seem to have been looking for him or expecting him, so "foe" seems less likely, but...]

Are you from here? I seem to have just appeared, and I'm not entirely sure where - or what - 'here' is.

[It's not your imagination that she seems wryly amused. Tris tugs Chime a little closer, muttering under her breath for the glass dragon to behave.] You must be new here. This is the Manor; it's sort of a place between different worlds, created and maintained by a... girl of immense power who expressed that power through what I can only assume is fairly horrible writing. As far as anyone can tell, you cannot readily leave. My name is Trisana Chandler- call me Tris. This is Chime. [And now that Chime's spotted the Honchkrow she is hissing like a steam vent.] I'm not sure what Big Green here is, other than... well... big.

[Well, it's better than a lot of other possible reactions. The Honchkrow, for his part, is going to stay put on the decor-table he's perched on with a small ruffle-feather-smooth, raising his head a little to eye Chime.]

[He bows - he's not know what's normal manners here, so he's going with what he's familiar with, and there's a smaller such to Chime and the Rayquaza.] My name is Raidou Kuzunoha the Fourteenth...Raidou is fine. I'm not sure of his name, either - he was here when I arrived. I only seem to have a few of my normal summons, and they're sealed right now. [There's a small pause - he's not comfortable with that one.]

[With the introductions done, he studies the walls for a moment thoughtfully.] So it's something like a...[Oh the joy of not being sure what name to use for something that someone else would recognize - she's definitely foreign, but he doesn't have a better way to put this.] Fukurotsubo illusion? [Smaalll frown; that sounded a little too much like the explanation was something that'd happened often ( ... )

[Tris is curtseying shortly in response- it's what she's dressed for, after all.] Summons? [You have the weather-witch intrigued! She's going to pull her glasses off for a moment, adjusting the spells on them briefly so she can get a better look.] A fukurotsubo illusion?

I... ah, I had been here a few months, and then I went home for several years. I only just came back.

[There might be a very faint click and the just-visible movement of the scabbard dropping to "at rest" with his hand off of it; for now, it seems pretty reliable that she's telling the truth, and there doesn't seem to be any sense of immediate threat.]

I'm a summoner. [As MUN sidesteps the way the franchise seems unsure what to do sometimes with terminology...] Normally I work with demons and spirits from other realms; this is the first time I've been seriously cut off. [And no, he's not very comfortable with that.] I'm not sure what it would be called where you're from; it's - a sort of 'illusion' spell that creates a temporary space as a trap. Normally there's some means of unraveling or breaking it whether the creator's stepped into it themselves or not.

[And considering that he's never spent more than a few hours in one, the 'few months' gets a frown.] Are there many other people trapped here?

[Tris is raising her eyebrows. Raidou, you just got her interest and she is so glad a certain journal is still in her room.] The closest thing I could think of to our situation would be an ambient mage like myself with her power expressed through writing, powerful enough to warp the laws of reality themselves. I've seen something-- slightly similar to what you've described back home, but it's easier to snap out of. [Ahh, yes, the spell-net defending Winding Circle.]

There are several others- a good way to get an estimate is by looking at the amount of rooms with a nameplate on them.

Ah, if you don't mind, could we continue this discussion out of doors? [That's a Significant Glance at Big Green.]

That seems like a good idea. [You might have to lead a little - beyond the obvious "the stairs are here", he has no idea where he's going yet, but he will follow.]

[Among the host of new questions is - just how far has he been thrown? He's seen mansions with this kind of architecture before, but most of what she's explained sounds foreign; there seem to be a lot of brass nameplates - more than several - down the hallways, but he hasn't quite paid enough attention yet to reading them.] Are most of the people here from different worlds? I haven't heard the phrase "ambient mage" used by foreigners, even, and if this place is that far outside normal reality...[Oh this is going to be FUN to get home from when they figure out a way out.]

[Tris is going to lead the way quite calmly- this really speaks volumes about how well she knows this place. And at least Big Green is calmish.] It seems a lot of them are. Ambient mages are... well, I can demonstrate easier once we're out-of-doors. I have magic with the weather, which is... not a good thing to demonstrate indoors.

[More and more complicated - this could be pretty far out on the Akarana corridors.]

I would imagine not. [No trouble understanding why you wouldn't want to mess with bringing storms indoors.]

[At least the front doors aren't far from the central staircase?]

[At least, and Tris is blessing that she can go outdoors, though she is doing a funny fumble for what are basically sunglasses. Yay ridiculous measures to help deal with some of the "oh god why, wind-scrying".] Funny-- that barrier has expanded quite a bit.

[Chime is going to be disgruntled and just... when Tris turns her loose, land in a tree.]

[Tris is reaching out with one hand and making a small beckoning gesture, pulling in the breezes in a way that is clearly not natural. Especially once it starts twining around her like an affectionate cat, clearly just around her. The Rayquaza, at least, seems happy enough to abandon her for the higher air.]

[The Honchkrow is perfectly happy to find a better perch himself, although it's somewhere close by.]

[The wind trick does get a curious headtilt.] I see - there's entities on my world that can do that, but to my knowledge no humans, at least, not without outside help.

As far as I've seen back home, there aren't any entities other than humans that are making themselves known, not like this. [She's sending the breeze over to Raidou.] And weather is probably one of the oddball things for an ambient mage to have- you can't craft it, you can't cultivate it, it simply is. I grew up with green mages- those whose magic works through plants- and craft-mages. I can't shape a breeze for luck, spell in signs for prosperity in a cloud. [She's a magical sledgehammer, and just a bit bitter. She's letting the wind go- she doesn't want to get an image-headache.]

..... [He's watching the breeze wind through his cape thoughtfully.] More than enough to move a ship, and just being able to see what it's going to do is something many people in my world would love to have.
