[Kanda wakes up in an awkward sitting position leaning against the open doorframe to a small second class cabin. He appears to be only wearing pants, boots and a little girl's ribbon that's holding his hair up in a ponytail. There's also a
spread-out tattoo on his chest

[Though she recognizes him instantly, Kanda looks far different than he did when Lenalee last saw him. The hair, his skin-- and when did the tattoo get that big? She can only assume that his current state is the Author's fault, but Lenalee has not seen anyone else arrive with that treatment. It doesn't make very much sense.]
[But... what could have happened in their world to cause all of that?]
Kanda, what happened? Are you alright?

[Well, better to make sure, be it a dream or not. He picks the Blackberry up and stares at it. Yup, there's a tiny Lenalee on the screen. Just like a golem with video feature, just doesn't look alive. Strange.]
[Scowling.]
Fine. Where am I?
[HE'S KIND OF IN A HURRY there are things to do back in the fight.]

[Though she is relieved that Kanda seems back to himself, for the most part, Lenalee can't let what she saw at the beginning of the video go that easily.]
I'll explain everything to you in person. [She begins walking briskly. Though Lenalee is not yet intimately familiar with the ship, she has a fair idea of his general location. It should be hard to miss the commotion.] Tell me what happened to you in the meantime.

[Fine. Fine. Explanation in person sounds good, although he'd like to know where he is as soon as possible, because... dammit.]
...fine. Hurry up.
[Sighing a little and leaning against the wall, best not to move around when someone's looking for you.]
[ o h . ]
[...he was not looking forward to that question.]
Nothing special. There's a fight going on.

It looked... worse than usual.
[He looked worse than usual, though she doesn't phrase it that way. Her meaning is clear enough.]

...I had to get serious.

[Lenalee picks up speed, practically running through the corridors. No, no, she can't think that. There's no use getting herself worked up without knowing all of the facts, and that thought hurts too much to contemplate.]
As long as you're alright. Don't push yourself too far.
[She grinds to a halt at the telltale sign of a demolished door, stepping inside. Lenalee can't muster the energy to yell at him for that right now, though that will likely change if he tries to destroy anything else.]
Kanda?

[It's probably a good thing he doesn't know what's running through Lenalee's head, or he might be smacking himself quite a lot for making her worry. Those spots on her legs when she had overdone it with her Innocence weren't exactly pretty, either.]
[He stops on his way as he sees Lenalee walk into one of the cabins - assessing the damage, maybe? But the person that had been there already left - and simply waits. It's good that she's here, really, although they haven't been separated for that long as far as he remembers. Hm.]
[Well, she's at least closeby enough for him to respond to that call, even though this whole thing seems a little strange.]
Yes.

[Regardless, it really is nice to see Kanda here. She offers him a smile, walking closer.]
I guess you're stuck here too now.

So what 'here' is, exactly?

[Her expression turns apologetic-- Lenalee doesn't mean to be cryptic, but it is hard to explain to the uninitiated, and she is quite distracted. Cautiously, Lenalee reaches out and puts a hand on Kanda's arm. He feels solid enough.]
The Manor is usually a building, but every week or so the Author-- who controls this place-- changes things. She has the power to make this world into whatever she wants it to be. This time, we're on a ship. Eventually we should find ourselves back on the Manor grounds, though... I imagine there's something bigger in store, first. There usually is.

[This whole... explanation thing... does not explain anything at all. Except that they are likely in for some serious shit and that shit changes all the time. None of it however covers the most important part of how does that even work, but he suddenly considers that maybe trying to wrap his brain around it is not the best idea ever.]
...why are we here, then.

[Eventually. At least she has one more part of her world to wait with.]

[He's just stating it, but at least he seems to be coming to terms with the fact that he'll have to accept this, for the moment at least.]
[That Author must be some powerful bastard.]

[So quit being a dick, god.]
Reply
[Well, he's got no choice. He can live with this. Probably.]
[Hey now that's the same as asking of him to cease to exist.]
