Are you alright - what happened? [You have him genuinely worried, now, besides the whole "wait, some of this seems vaguely familiar"... but priorities - see if he's safe/looked after beyond the obvious apparent emergency-care, THEN worry about finding out what happened and how to prevent it happening again.]

That was a friend of mine you'd distracted him from, as much as it may've been something she was handling badly - if anything, I owe you more for getting involved when it was something that wasn't being handled well.

Cigarettes might be hard for me to get - I don't smoke, and the one person I know that does isn't exactly someone I'd want to approach; I'd bring them if I could.

I just wanted to know what happened, and if there's anything I can do to help - as much as I might have access to cigarettes right now.

I know you might not be inclined to believe me, but this isn't either of our worlds - when we're trapped here equally, I've thought it's a bit trivial to argue about who was on which side of the law in their world, and I've always preferred working outside the red tape anyway.

[He had a good guess Gokudera was probably hiding something - but angling for an interrogation would do far more harm than good, and pressing someone who was injured, drugged, and death warmed over was cruelty at best, if not risking making the situation worse.]

Understood - take care of yourself; I don't want to see anyone here end up hurt or killed needlessly or trivially. [He'd rather things stay peaceful, but he knew better than to ask that, particularly with some of the other people around.]
