((Off camera and out of sight))
[ Light isn't exactly a foreigner to the content of this convention-- otaku culture, hentai culture, idol culture, cosplay, crossplay-- he's seen it practically everyday back in Tokyo. But never at this density. Manorcon would be the first convention Light has ever been to, and he's determined never to set foot in one ever again. As it is, he's managed to convince himself that the fangirls are just physical manifestations of the Author. This isn't enough to convince him that he's not actually a real person. He's wandering alone, with a cap on his head to hide his features. His godawful impersonations only ever seemed to be recognized when he was in Daikoku's dress code, which mercifully, Light is not wearing at the time. Except.]
OH MY GOD YAGAMI-KUUUUUN!!
[ Light makes the mistake of actually non-verbally responding to his name, by turning around... only to find
this chasing him down the hallway. If that weren't enough to twist Light's features into one of horror, it's also holding a Death Note. ]
CAN YOU SIGN THIS FOR ME?!
[ She gives Light a name, which only registers somewhat faintly in the background. The foreground is consumed with variations of: Can't be. But it is. And the realization is absolutely horrifying. It can't work. Logically, it shouldn't work. But Light's morally opposed to writing his name in anything that resembles a Death Note. He can feel his palms beginning to sweat, and even to him, it's pathetic. He offers a smile, and then in a snap decision, opens the compartment of his watch. Only to find that when he brings a pen to that scrap, he can't actually write. He can visualize the letters, visualize the act of writing, but something is lost in the parsing that results in the actualization of that action. The strange thing about it all, is the fact that the sensation clears itself up when he's no longer trying to write a name.... Frowning slightly as he tries to make sense out of this-]
[ The feed suddenly clicks on as a random L cosplayer practically glomptackles Light...and then proceeds to lick his cheek.]
....What the hell-?
[Ohhhh, but it doesn't end there. Not-L grabs his arm while he's caught unaware, and swiftly handcuffs Light to her own arm, and drags him off to the Death Note Panel....
Anyone paying attention to the next few hours of Light's audio feed will first hear him trying to reason with the cosplayer, but get stunned into total silence. Random snippets of Light-isms can be heard- "I'LL TAKE A POTATO CHIP, AND EAT IT"... all the way down to "MATSUDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"- until finally...]
Wasn't that AWESOME! Too bad Light's a dickface that kills L. He totally deserved what he got! Thanks for keeping me company~
[The L cosplayer gives Light a kiss on the cheek and then saunters off after releasing him. The feed now just shows Light looking ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZED.]
((Basically, anything that's not part of the LJ cut is open for responses/being seen. The LJ cut is really one long ass tl;dr that leads Light to realize the Note is working again. Oh yeah, this goes without saying. no one remembers any of what actually happened after Manorcon is over.))
