To avoid tl;dr, let's just say that Near's room basically resembles something of a mix between Toys R Us and Santa's workshop. His latest interest is origami though, and those colorful, paper critters are EVERYWHERE.

The closet is stocked with colorful paper and posters and the like, but no scissors, glue, drawing utensils, no tools, nothing. This is partly to give Dende extra incentive to carry out Near's plan.]

[Perhaps he didn't need those incentives after all. The alien is apparently highly reactive and perfectly capable of conjuring up ways to be easily manipulated all on his own. Near was considering bribery as an initial approach. However, playing on fears works just fine too.]
