[Well wasn't this nauseating. Light had been passing through the hallway, in the middle of returning to his room. He certainly hadn't expected to overhear this little nugget of a monologue. Seriously, what kind of an idiot actually expressed this sort of ambition out loud? Perhaps--Greed, was it? A little transparent, but rather apt for a nickname as nicknames tend to be--hadn't intended on an audience.... but then again, why mention it in a public sphere where it could easily be overheard?

Maybe being overheard was precisely the point. It would allow the new person to gage the reactions of the people living here. (No, Light is not convinced that 'meet' is the word Greed is thinking.) The troubling thought, however, is the realization that people don't make statements like that without having some means of actualizing their claims. Light, of course, had....has...his Death Note to aid in his claim over the world, but what about this newcomer? Either way, Light is distinctly unimpressed. The Manor may not be Light's world, but it's certainly not Greed's either. The poor bastard would learn that the hard way.
