Page Twelve || Can't decide if I'm happy or not [Video/In person]

[The feed clicks on to reveal an appropriately concerned looking Light Yagami appearing to navigate the darkened hallway aided by the white glow of his Blackberry screen, which has been refashioned as a makeshift flashlight; at least until a suitable alternative has been found.

Of course, for the most part the concern is a façade. Light all too ( Read more... )

Misa's gone?

[He sighs, it was a shame, and a blessing. She was nice to him even though he had fucked up so bad during body-swap week]

It's probably for the better I guess... Nothing bad will probably happen to her back home. I should... take out the trap system in her room...

It looks like it.

[Light's tone is tired. He's relieved that Misa is gone, but at the same time, it's frustrating. How the hell is Misa managing to escape? It strikes him as incredibly biased. Is it for good behavior? For being female? He wants there to be a pattern to this, because then it wouldn't be complete nonsense, but at the same time, it's the Author; Stupid, arbitrary teenage girl. There's no reason for her actions, she just acts. Light wants nothing more than to watch her convulse on the floor in the throes of a fatal myocardial infarction.]

...You're right about her being safer at home though. B can't get to her there. [A sigh.]

I suppose I never mentioned that I did appreciate what you did.

[He's still not quite saying that he does.]

I-

[Wait, did he just THANK him!? Hayato was used to a lot of things but gratitude was never one of them... Hayato just remains looking shocked for a moment before he tries to enforce the use of words again]

I... um... well.. it's just...

[He shakes his head trying to pull himself together. He looks away and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly]

It's nothing... It was my own fault anyway...

[Light does absolutely nothing to correct Gokudera's impression that it is his fault. It isn't of course, but there's an aspect of fault on Light's part that he isn't so happy to admit to either. The previous Beyond Birthday had seemingly been informed about everything: the Death Note, the nature of Shinigami eye acquisition, that he had almost taken it for granted that this one would know as well. But how was Light supposed to have accounted for Author related idiocy in his plans? Gokudera finding out about the Shinigami eyes too throws yet another wrench in his path... especially considering his burgeoning friendship with Sayu. In short, Light's committed to the idea of keeping Gokudera in the dark about the entire reason behind the attack. He clears his throat.]

B isn't exactly a predictable entity. [That's about all the comfort Light is willing to give.]

So you know him? He from your world or somethin'?

[Ah, the ever welcomed topic change. Still the whole almost comforting thing was wierding Gokudera out a bit. Honestly he much preferred arguing with people, keeping them at arms length, rather then talking civilly. It was uncharted territory for him, leaving him feeling awkward and vulnerable.]

Light thinks too much. ;-; finalarbiter May 13 2011, 00:31:15 UTC
[There's little point in denying the fact that they are indeed from the same world, so Light doesn't. If anything, Light is surprised somewhat Gokduera hasn't already made the connection for himself. If B and Misa shared a common trait, the eyes-- which all things considered, are relatively worthless without a Death Note to accompany them-- then it only stood to reason that Misa and B were from the same world, and thus transitively, Light too. Not only that, but L was here too, and it isn't uncommon knowledge that Light and L know each other. One would have to be blind not to see that it is L that B is emulating.

Besides, what were the odds that two people from unrelated universes would have the specific ability to see names and lifespans? True, there is the possibility that B could technically be from an alternate version of Light's universe, but the metaphysical implications of this are a) something Light doesn't want to think about, and b) clearly irrelevant if this B is just as willing as the last one to cause trouble ( ... )

I LOVE LIGHT'S THINKING! killer_melon May 13 2011, 01:17:27 UTC
[The video shows the teen on the move, after doing some rummaging in his room for a warped screwdriver, and a bar of some sort. He stops in front of Misa's room and sighs. She really was gone. He pushes open the door and walks towards the window where he set up one of the traps. He scrutinizes it for a moment, squinting. He grumbles and takes out his glasses, though one lens has been cracked, still it was better then nothing. He examined the dynamite once again. It looked pretty worn, it could be unstable. He leans forward to give it a sniff, then holds his ear up to it. It seemed pretty dormant but he wasn't going to take the chance of jarring it too much. He set the blackberry down and very carefully began unscrewing the fastenings]

So what has he done that's made him so unpredictable? Other then going after Misa....

[The teen didn't know about L, he had never encountered him. Nor had he made any connections to B having the same eyes as Misa. Misa's eyes were her business, and that was as far as he was willing to go on the subject ( ... )
