[At first Hayato didn't notice the change in scenery. Usually he was a light sleeper and pretty crisp in the morning, but after being ill the previous week he was uncharacteristically sluggish. He dragged his feet out of his room with only his pajama pants and a pair of slippers on, and a toothbrush sticking out of his mouth... and a couple stick

[Ryuutaro was feeling quite dreamy as well. The stars. All around. So mystical.
The sight of that half-naked person is disturbing though. If having seen the stars had not put him into a more-or-less good mood, Gokudera's face would probably have met a fan now.
But since he understand the fascination with the stars, the make-up-wearing boy only makes a comment]

The stars are truly distracting, aren't they? [Distracting from getting dressed, he means. His fan is opened and hiding the lower half of his face]

[Hayato, being completely enthralled by the stars can't bare to peel his eyes away from the window to address the stranger. Though it's put him in such a good mood, he forgets that he hates everyone, and thus doesn't respond with his usual rudeness]

Yeah, it's friggin' AWESOME! Lookit it!

I do see it and have been watching it for an hour or so already.
It is truly amazing. [But not an excuse to run around shirtless!]

[And he's totally not picking up on his nudity, but he is able to peel his eyes away from the window to look back at the... is that a girl? ...The fuck?! Well whatever, space is more important]

It totally frickin' is! I mean think about it! How many other intelligent life forms there could be?! From here it would probably be easy to make contact with them!

[Yes, from the looks Ryuutaro could very well be a girl, but his voice was too deep for that. Though... maybe he could just be a girl with a manly voice? However, he wouldn't like to hear such thoughts about his appearance. At all.]

We already have aliens here, they could know more about it. But you might want to get dressed before asking them. [The fan is pointed at Gokudera's upper body]

You do have a point... But who's to say they won't be hostile.... hmm.... I'll have to do some scouting then...

[He continues pondering on this... up until the whole getting dressed thing. His face goes BRIGHT RED as he looks down at his shirtless upper half]

[Ryuutaro chuckles, his fan opening to hide most of his face]

[What the hell is it with that guys fan? He looks like a chick... acts kind of chick-ish... but sounds 100% dude. Maybe he's still sleeping? This would constitute the WEIRDEST dream he's had in a while...]

Y-yeah... I uh... just woke up... been a long week... and I uh... didn't expect to y'know... be in space...

[But hey, at least his breath is minty fresh]

[And the fan snaps shut again. It's an annoying habit of Ryuutaro's, always gesturing with it. Then he smiles overly sweetly.]

Nobody did. [Which was annoying, considering he should've known, because he was a fortune-teller after all!]
The future goes weird ways sometimes.

Yeah, this whole place is weird... Y'think maybe it's gunna stay like this from now on?

[Personally he wouldn't mind, space was friggin' awesome!]

I'm not sure... The Author doesn't seem to be the type to stick with ideas.
[And besides... as beautiful as the stars were, as much as he loved them... The thought of not being able to go outside was horrifying. But...]

If we could land on planets and actually go outside quite often, I wouldn't mind terribly much though.

Yeah, I guess you've got a point...

[But he INSTANTLY brightens RIGHT BACK UP at the mention of traveling to other planets]

THAT WOULD BE FRIGGIN' AWESOME! Can you imagine it?! All the other intelligent life forms we could meet?! We could be like ambassadors of earth!

[Oh look at the can of worms you opened Ryuutaro. He's getting some serious nerd on now]

[In secret Ryuutaro thinks to himself, that earth would be pretty much doomed with an overly exited ambassador like that. But the smirk stays on.]

I suppose it would be extremely fascinating. [And admittedly, he also liked thinking about it. In the end Ryuutaro was just 13-year-old after all] We already have aliens here, as mentioned before, but meeting them in their envriroments, on their world, would give a lot of insight in their culture that we usually could not have...

t would be GREAT! Think of all the alien species there could be out there! Think of all the amazing alien technology they could have!

Or even all sorts of special powers they might have!

[Like in Star Trek]

They could even help us solve all sorts of mysteries one Earth!

[Like the stuff in the tabloids...]

hmmm right they could be hostile... attempt to use Earth for resources or attempt to enslave humanity...

Maybe one of the aliens on the ship would know how to handle that! They've probably got to know about space more then we do!
