[Ah, the merry sound of jingle bells! They can be heard all up and down the corridors, bouncing cheerfully through any and every room as a white-haired guy explores with a mission. He knocks on every closed door before trying to open it, very intent on finding someone named 'Lord Kortan

[cowering, randomly twitching with he occasional leap and yelp]

[knocks tentatively on the next door, barely tapping...even the bells seem muted]

[And then there's a twentysomething lady behind you in a faded, slightly ash-smudged blue dress.]

I don't believe the person you're seeking is here.

[oh yeah, that's a yelp...and then he falls to the floor and does what can only be termed groveling]

Aaaah! Have pity on me! I didn't mean it!

[motherofsilence]

I won't harm you - there's no need for this. [Her voice is calm and even - no annoyance, more like trying to soothe a panic.]

[a few sniffles, and he scrambles to a frog-crouch]
