[Had Beyond Birthday cared to put in the effort, he could probably name the exact genus and species of the prehistoric flora that surrounded him. He did not care. The only thing that matters at the moment is that this place is not Room four-oh-four. His thoughts are scattered in chaotic disarray, an unpredictable, teeming mass of anger, annoyance,

Just who in the hell do you think you are?! People are dying and you're complaining about sitting on a Trike?

Ryuzaki Rue. Unprivate detective. Perhaps you'd like to explain to me what is going on without unkind assumptions about the nature of my inquiries?

Fine. You're either a clone or you were brought back here without your memory but for now, as it stands, we're locked in a death plot. As you already figured out, we're amid dinosaurs. Someone made mention that this seems like a book or a movie but I'm not familiar with either so take a guess what kind of answer you're going to get from me.
[He continues his work to stabilize Claudia but he's preparing to lose her too.]

He watches the screen impassively, as he continues processing what Tom is saying. Memory loss? Now this was troubling. People knew him? The name Tom Hanson at all familiar, but then again, it wouldn't have been anyway. How many names did B ever care to remember? ...Or, perhaps...familiar in that his face, against all odds, actually did look like L's? Aah, yes, that was the preferable explanation! But how to confirm either theory?
Injury. The girl is injured. B could help. ...Or pretend to.]
I will help.

[Tom hasn't seen B or L for that matter other than he put two and two together and had to take a guess which one was which. At this point in time, it didn't matter much anymore other than to survive. There was no time to pick apart details. At least for the moment. He'll do that when there's more time to work things out on paper.]
Sorry that I was so rude back there. This place stresses people out severely even on an off week.

Don't trust anything that guy says!

[Having never met B or L in person, he's willing to give her the benefit and back down even if he feels imposed upon.]
This woman needs help and she's dying. He said that he's willing to help.

[She grips the device tightly. Naomi had no idea where she was, where anyone was. Even if she wanted to help, she didn't know where to go. No, even is she wanted to help, she couldn't be sure whether or not her presence would only make B more or less suspicious of Tom. He had already hinted at the possibility of B, or even worse L, being here before. Her appearance would only make it worse for him.]
You can't shake him off either. He's suspicious of you now.
[On top of that the woman does look like she needs extra help. Misora just couldn't let a life slip away because of her own paranoia. Damn. Damn!]
H-how badly hurt is she? [What a stupid question to ask.]

[He pushed aside the issue with B for now.]
I'll need to get her out of here before she dies. These animals can smell a body a great distance and I'm not going to just consciously let her remain here to be animal fodder.
[Damn his idealistic views sometimes. It's bothering him that he can't do much more to help her either.]

No, it's not B that Misora feared meeting with, it's the problems such a meeting would cause later on, particularly with Tom, one of the few she could call "friend" here.
And then there's the problem of the dying woman. Temporary death or not, a life is still a life!]
Where are you? I'll come instead. Distract him as long as you can. [If you can, that is ...] And please don't mention anything that could hint at having met him before.

Okay.
[He'll wait to tell her in person what he already told B which wasn't going to be good for either of them.]

At least the dinosaur problems were at bay, for now anyway. Perhaps B wouldn't be as lucky.
Misora finally catches sight of Tom, breathing a sigh of relief only to gawk in horror at the sight of the woman he's tending to.]
We- [Gasping for breath.] We need to get her somewhere safe.

[He gets up to move and rips off the table cloth from the nearby table and grabs two poles from the display that was holding up a sign. He takes out his knife and cuts the sign away in order to make a gurney.]
We don't have a lot of time. Did you bring a jeep?
Reply
You've done this before?

[He let that slip on purpose since it seemed like a natural response. The other time was when he pulled a kid out of the water during a hazing incident that went bad and nearly killed the kid.]
I lost one. I'm going to do my damnedest to not repeat that.
[Tom ties off the table cloth and now plans out what to do to get Claudia to the docks with as little incident as possible.]

It won't repeat. We're in this together. [It's such a cheesy, cliche phrase that it almost made Naomi want to gag.
But that made it no less true.]
I can help you carry her.
