{13} The Emporer's New Clothes [Action]

Feb 07, 2011 14:22

[Willy has now seen it all. Now that his clothes disappear, he's not happy about it but makes the most of it. He grabs his blankets, sheets and pillow cases off the bed and makes a toga and uses the blanket as a cloak. There was no way that he was going to be seen with so many colorful tattoos on his body from India as a gift from Prince ( Read more... )

[Naomi had just left her room with a blanket in hand, about to head to the kitchen, when she sees that crazy man, practically swallowed by fabric, zipping across the hall and slamming the door in a white, blurry mess.

What the hell did she just see? For a moment she just stands there, unblinking, motionless.

Then with a sigh, she withdraws back into her room, defeated.]

[He emerged out of his room and blinks at Naomi's blank expression.]

Are you okay?

[Tom's carrying around a metal clipboard that was normally kept in a squad car.]

Yeah. I just saw that weird guy wrapped in blankets [Naomi gestures left towards Willy's room] rush into his room like his pants were on fire. I suppose this doesn't help. [She raises her own blanket that she had planned to use as a shield.

She notices the clipboard.]

Does that work?

[A sheepish chuckle as he indicates the clipboard by lifting it slightly.]

Sort of. It only works to get out of the light. It's not good for much.

Hmm ... Maybe it only doesn't work if you're trying to wear it like clothes. Eh, I don't think I want to give it a try though.

Maybe we ought to adopt a nocturnal lifestyle for the remainder of the week.

Yeah...that might help.

[And it's like being back on the night watch all over again.]

That shouldn't be too hard to adopt at least for a little bit. I'm just not too fond of the idea of losing my clothes at inappropriate moments. I feel like I'm being hazed again only with light and not with a water hose.

You've been hazed?

It's a stupid, immature, initiation tradition where the older cops hose down the younger ones or they use water balloons. They say it's to "cool" us off. [sardonically] Ha, ha. Funny stuff.

Oh, so it really does happen. Immature indeed.

[She glances behind at the streaks of sunlight that are undoubtedly trying to grab at her through the blinds. A scoff]

This doesn't seem to fare any better on the dignity scale.

Well, it happened a lot in my time. They've been finding ways to make hazing illegal since people actually can get killed from it. It's especially true when it's gone too far.

[He pauses for a second.]

So they don't have hazing in your time?

[Tom is optimistic that things changed for the better.]
