*Heiji opened the door to his bedroom and took two steps in before realizing something was seriously wrong. His room was never clean, for one, and even with that fact there was a lot of stuff missing from his desk and walls

[Hakuba was taking another prowl of the halls narrowing down what MIGHT be B's room before he sent out the call to arms - he was a little more frayed and worn looking, his hair a little messier, than Heiji would've ever seen him, and was practically stalking like a hunting dog - ]
Heiji turned, still looking rather freaked, and the simple fact that Hakuba is a familiar face was the only thing that kept his auto response from kicking in when he saw him. During the few seconds he took to recover from his surprise, he registered the details about the other detective's appearance, wondering once more what was going on here*
I'd say th' same, but I'm not entirely sure why I'm seein' ya. *honest admission, his concern clear on his face*
And now, for thirty seconds with literal bunnies!im_in_ur_exitJanuary 30 2011, 09:48:08 UTC
[You know, he's doing this more because he figures Heiji can keep up than to be an ass - but he'd be lying if there wasn't a small amount of "nerves are frazzled so he's a bit of an ass" in there. Less than usual at least! He's gesturing as he speaks and it's not that hard to guess he's frazzled

*there's a few seconds of silence as Heiji processes this information, cataloging it in his brain by order of importance. He holds up his hand in a 'hold that thought' gesture, and disappears back into his 'room'. He grabs his hat, glad that it wasn't one of the things that were missing, and put it on as he returned to Hakuba, facing it forward*
Tell me where ya need me t' be and I'm there. *Sure, they had their differences before, and he wasn't usually one to follow orders, but he wasn't an idiot. Hakuba knew more about this case than he did and he'd be damned if he screwed something up because of pride.*
But when this murderer is caught, yer gonna have to explain that first bit t'me in greater detail.
..After his week, Saguru LIKES YOU.im_in_ur_exitJanuary 31 2011, 03:34:55 UTC
[...It is probably strange to see a flicker of an expression like he could almost hug you, considering what it's been like getting people to cooperate so far...Then he starts ticking off the case.]
Alright! The Manor is a fairly big place, but it is one building, and we DO have a tracker, as well as six other people. The culprit has been using the air ducts to travel - Conan and I cranked up the heat and broke the knob, he probably can't use that. He's been slipping drugs to people - klonopin - and then killing them, mimicking how other people here would've done it, but imperfectly ... no struggle, but some of his victims have been very wary people quite capable of defending themselves, and one of the killings only took maybe three minutes thirty, three minutes forty tops. We know who he is, we have the manpower and resources, all we really need to do is close him in
( ... )
Well, Heiji is glad you approve, cause you're the only thing he recognizes atm.kansai_ahouJanuary 31 2011, 03:41:56 UTC
*he listened intently, putting aside the strange details like telepathy and shapeshifting and focusing on the plan. He needs a visual of the building*
How many floors are there, an' how long is it? *he gestures down the hall* As long as this, or are there other halls and sections on each floor that make it bigger?
[He pulls out his journal, flipping past a few pages of his scrawled code to the pages with his maps and name marks.]
Here - this is the interior; the outside grounds are here. [The next page over] There's a barrier up where the light pencil is on the first floor ... you don't want to walk into it. It's larger on the inside than it is on the outside, but it's still not that huge of a building.
*he studied the notebook maps for a few minutes, committing them to memory. He was confident that he would quickly learn to associate the map locations with the real ones*
Yer plan is t' corner this guy, right? Ya have a general idea what we're gonna be lookin' for?
[He does trust you to land on your feet thrown into things...]
From what we know of him and one of the few people who's met him - male; small and wiry, early twenties - he has been passing easily through the ventilation without being noticed. Ill health, black hair, messily kept, pale; he's likely got more than one nest, and at least one of those will have a couple stolen weapons we need to recover and return to their owners - a katana and an older-model gun. He's avoided attention; he doesn't show himself much, and most of the residents here haven't even known he was around... also apparently originally trained as a detective - one reason the plan is to abandon the usual subtlety; normal investigation and finding him quietly is playing his game on his board. He moves in the early hours of the morning so far... pre-dawn, and is likely mostly nocturnal.
[And really, of all the detectives he knows, you're one of the best people for this. :| ]
[He looks up and nods.] Yes. 1790's. Tris, from what she's said, isn't even from a version of Earth. There's also a dragon living in the barn... I'm sure Sable would help, but I'm not how well she'd maneuver the halls.
I've compared notes with some of the others from modern Earth - most of them aren't from ours even, but some sort of alternate timeline. [There is, at least, some time before they move...]
[Then he spotted Heiji.]
[And broke out into a wide, pointy, grin.]
Hattori-san! It's so very good to see you.
