However, when he saw who the mangled remains belonged to, he was a little taken a back. Shiki? The military know it all? Frowning and stepping over the blood (or at least trying to), Holmes kneels down infront of him]
..I suppose you know you're beyond saving, don't you?

Exhaling with a slight hiss, he tries to speak. It's more of a harsh whisper, that's barely audible, broken by coughing up blood from his lungs. It's strained aggressive, but only out of desperation.]

How dare he let him suffer like this. He would rather he drowned on his own blood, died of shock, loss of blood - whatever was going to be the main cause. Just giving the killer that sickening satisfaction he wanted. Frustration bubbled over within him, in some way perhaps he knew he deserved this, but, really.. if he admitted that then really what justification did he have for everything he'd done so far in his life? He wanted to scream, yell, unleash some sort of emotion. Unwillingly, he felt something moist at the corners of his eyes, even if his nerves were on the way out. Perhaps it was just the only outlet he had when he couldn't act on his emotions, or it was just from all the pain? For the first time in years he shed tears.]

That's fine
[When Shiki stops breathing, Holmes just sits for a minute, in the quiet amidst the blood. Reaching out, he closes Shiki's eyelids, and, with care, removes the katana from his body, placing it to the side. He then removes his coat, and covers the body with it. It was odd; even though Shiki had killed him..and he had no reason to even be civil to him, Holmes still felt the need to solve this case for him. Perhaps it was the chronic boredom..whatever it was, he was going to]
I'll get to the bottom of this..and I'll see you in a few days
[Pulling his pipe out of his pocket, he pushes it into his mouth as he heads back the way he came. Things just got very interesting]
