[Eugene had emerged into the hallway carrying a tray full of cookies and tea. He hadn't seen Sara around for a while and upon reaching her door, he figured out why. His heart sank and his head nods slowly.
Anger, sorrow and a bit of what was seen as pensiveness graced his face and moved away from the door and back into the kitchen to unmake the tray. Setting the plate of cookies on the dinning room table, he walked away from it, feeling as though something was taken from him again even though she was not his daughter. It was that old familiar feeling of regrets that caused him pause and headed toward the library to take up his habit of reading alone once again.]
I hope that you're with your father now.
[Quietly, he goes about his day and hardens himself again. Too many things have taken him from what was important to him and this was just another example of his neglect.]
