[Not keen on just sitting and waiting for the fight to happen (that and his nerves were preventing him from sleeping) D'eon decided that the middle of the night was a good of a time as any to wander off into the night to practice his fencing. Taking a small lantern he found a nice mostly secluded area where he didn't run the risk of waking up any ( Read more... )

meep, I know I said I'd put up a topic for this, but my computer crapped out shortly thereafter. jadedserpent November 27 2010, 15:53:43 UTC
[Someone was watching the lord from behind a tree. A certain long-nosed, long-haired someone whose face was discolored from healing bruises.

Snape watched him. His arm was still in a sling, but it was properly made, at least. He held his wand in his left hand.

Perhaps D'eon will notice someone watching him all creepy-like.]

It's all good. I feel you in the crap-comp area~ gender_at_will November 27 2010, 16:06:59 UTC
[Ah yes, his spider senses were tingling D'eon noticed someone lurking in the shadows. He quickly turns his sword to Snape's general direction]

Who's there? Show yourself.

[Snape emerges from behind the trees, wand pointed at D'eon.]

Who are you?

[The unasked question is 'are you with the law? Are you looking for me?']

[D'eon raised a quizzical eyebrow at the wand. Why on earth was this boy pointing a stick at him? He lowered his sword slightly, not thinking the boy was a threat, he did look rather injured.]

Chevalier D'eon de Beaumont, and you sir?

[Well, if he was lowering his sword, then he had no intention of attacking. Foolish. Still, Snape lowered his wand, slightly.

Whether the man was with the law or not, he would surely know Snape. There was no point in lying.]

Severus.

[Lucky for you Snape, D'eon isn't very fond of the blackberry system and has been completely left in the dark as to what's been going on. But since the boy, 'Severus' lowered his stick weapon, D'eon no longer perceived him as a threat and sheathed his sword]

A pleasure Monsieur Severus.

[D'eon bows politely]

May I ask what you're doing up at this hour? It's rather late and you look as though you could use some rest.

[Snape cocks an eyebrow at the bow, and does nothing to return the gesture.]

I like staying up late. [Answer enough for you?]

I could say the same about you.

[D'eon smiles a bit, completely disregarding the boy's crass manners. He didn't expect much more from the English.]

Ah, the upcoming battle has me a bit on edge. I assumed that it would be better if I got a bit of practice in beforehand, as opposed to wallowing in my tent.

[Right. The battle. The captured talking rabbit and all that.]

Right.

[He hasn't heard anything about the plans.]

I assume that someone's organized a plan for this?

Yes, an attack will be mounted tomorro-

[he catches himself and chuckles]

-later today, as it will. Although I am merely going as part of the auxiliary forces. My weapon isn't sufficient to kill the beasts.

[He pats the sword at his side]

[Yes, he's seen the things crawling over Paris and the manor. He hasn't tried to harm them yet, though.]

I see.

[He's not part of the plans, nor does he plan to be.]

And what of you Monsieur? You appear to be injured, it would probably be wise for you to rest in the camp while the matter is dealt with.

[He glances at the sling around his arm.]

I'm recovering. [But he still doesn't have use of his wand arm.]

Perhaps it would be.

[D'eon smiles at him]

I'm sure there is someone in the camp that could aide you. I'm not quite skilled at treating injuries myself. Would you like me to fetch someone for you?

[He sneers at the older man.]

I've already been helped. [By his enemy's friend, no less, a humiliating experience he doesn't want to remember.] So thank you.

Well monsieur if there is anything I can do to help you please let me know. It is unwise to be prowling the forest at night with our enemies so close, especially injured and unarmed.

[Because there's no way that stick is a weapon.]
