He's got a pile of books on the table next to him, most of them appear to be history books pertaining to France and a bit on America and Canada dated after the 1700's. Yes, D'eon is trying to cheat on history, but it appears he forgot

[She's been doing much the same thing on and off. Well, mostly off as Claudia is easily bored and very ADHD (although that particular diagnosis won't exist for roughly 800 years. She was just back-flipping out of the library when she notices the Tribble on his head. She smiles and laughs internally then jabs him on the shoulder, attempting to wake him up]

[D'eon opens his eyes with a bit of a start. He looks around groggily, but smiles when he sees Claudia.]

Ah Mademoiselle Claudia... I-I'm sorry I seem to have dozed off.

[He is completely unaware of the furry thing on his head]
