I gotta say I'm baffled by this community as well. I mean, I could see if people submitted their fic to be 'critiqued' (and trust me, that's a loose definition), but this is just people being mean and vindictive for the sake of being mean and vindictive. It's hard to be a writer, we deal with enough rejection from publishing companies and such--we don't need it from elitist snobs within our own community. We should be embracing each other, or if you must be critical, at least try and do it in a kind and contructive way.
I hope you all feel better about you by ripping down on other people, because I sure as hell can't think of another reason to be so immature. (or a good reason...period)

ps-if Helvissa's fic is so bad, why did Alex himself praise it in an interview? Of all the fic on the net, why did he single out hers and say how wonderful she was? hmmmmmmmmmmm

This isn't a critique community - it's a badfic community. Where people laugh at badfic, because badfic is funny. It's really not that hard to figure out. But I could go through the spiel again in one-syllable words, if that would help.

Actually Alex himself doesn't say a damn thing about her fic. (Though I have to admit that I never knew it was HERS in that story.) The interviewer/writer mentions her, almost like 'Look how crazy this all is' and Alex doesn't even say a thing about HER fic specifically, just fic in general.

And even if you do assume that he WAS talking about it, he doesn't praise her fic OR say that she's wonderful. He says he's honoured by people writing fic, that it's very interesting...and that it's funny.

given her proven inability to read (see: me not knowing who alex k is) i'm assuming that she's trying to imply that alex saying: "I think it’s brilliant. It’s really, really funny." is a direct compliment to her! her fic! her her her! as opposed to just generally talking about rps as he is.

Well, to quote someone 'that ain't necessarily a good thing'. 'Cause I doubt her rent-boy epic (which I barely got into out of 'Ow', but then again it usually takes quite a bit to get me into AU in RPS, so...) was MEANT to be funny, yanno?
