Yup, today was definitely a Monday
And, as first days go, I'm feeling a little like Gwen Cooper...
Ok, so no releasing alien sex gas but...
The. Worst. First. Day. EVER! *cries*
It was snowing. So naturally, everyone's driving at like 5mph - which was really annoying because um hi roads are clear and visibility is fine. And it took like 15 minutes to do ONE MILE. I ended up having to ring the agency because I was running late because of it - they let Britvic know and they were fine with it, hell half their office was empty because everyone was stuck in the traffic. They relayed a message of drive safely and get here when you can.
Get to the office, flustered and a little panicky because I'm 20 minutes late... only to find I'm at the wrong fucking Britvic offices - i was supposed to have been at the office the other side of the industrial estate *facepalm*
Cue me hitting TOTAL panic and embarassment, ringing the agency in flods of tears. Richard, bless him, said Britvic were used to people doing that. He calmed me right down, told me to sit in my car for a couple of minutes and catch my breath.
Which I did.
Only, as I start pulling out of the car park, I hit a patch of black ice and go into a lovely skid... sliding straight in the direction of a police car parked on the other side of the road.
Didn't hit it, thank god.. But a nice policeman came to see if I was ok and I swear he wanted to hug me *hangs head*
You can imagine the state I'd gotten myself into, I'm sure!
Get to the right office and from then on it, everything was just fine. Everyone's lovely and friendly, even if I can't remember their names. I know what everyon drinks, but not their names? Go figure.
OH! There's a lovely lovely LOVELY big fridge in th office absolutely full of FREE drinks - pepsi, j20, fruit shoots...plus a tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc... everything Britvic make.
I'm working with Sandra on the Data Capture team - basically, we open/stamp/sort the post, then scan and input the invoices... some things never change, and its nice to be able to hit the ground running :)
Also, I'm working with girl named Helen and all morning I was sitting there thinking 'i know you. i know i know you from somewhere but for the life of me I don't know where'
By lunch time it was REALLY bugging me, so I kinda just went 'you look really familiar, do i know you from somewhere?' and then she said she'd been thinking the same thing all morning.
We chatted through lunch and then we realised - we used to go to Boyzone concerts at the NEC togther like... 12/13 years ago
Talk about a small world!
Office does have eye-candy though! \o/
Cute guy with an adorable cheeky smile called Alex. The boy's called Alex, not the smile. We clicked instantly. But I think he's young so maybe just some fun flirting and hopefully a friend :)
That's about it really.... suppose I ought to get on with posting some vampire!steve before you guys like... lynch me or something haha
