The trouble with torchwood is...

Jan 02, 2007 19:55

The only main problem I have with Torchwood is the fact that.. well.. no-one else seems to bloody watch it! The season finale was on last night and OMFG fangirl. Only, I have no-one to squeal at because nobody, NOBODY watches it. OK sure I'm getting original_kaos into it, care of the woobie!ness of Ianto but she's not seen the episode yet. My mum says it was very entertaining listening to me watch the episode because every now and again she'd just hear this random cry of one of the characters names.

ZOMG! what a totally amazing episode it was. The pain, the angst, the anguish, the slash, the special effects... Ianto getting more lines/screen time than he has like the entire series!

Meeting the real Captain Jack Harkness and finding out that our Jack isn't actually Jack Harkness (I'm still confused on that one... is James Harper his real name or is it another alias? Could he be related to Owen? oh, hello plot bunny how are you?)

The real Captain Jack falling for our captain jack, the slowdance and the kiss ♥
That was a truly beautiful, heart wrenching scene it really was. I totally loved it!
Again, it really worked, it felt right for the characters to have been dancing and embracing and that kiss was so passionate but didn't feel like a gratuitious gay kiss scene

Ianto, Gwen and Owen working together to try and rescue Tosh & Jack. And I loved how Ianto just took control so seamlessly and confidently and the 'thats an order' line and 0.0.
There's definitely a lot more to Ianto, to his background, to his character than meets the eye and I'm hoping S2 expands on that - the way he took control of the situation, the way he reacts to whats going on around him, the 'i'm so much more than that' line when Owen calls him the teaboy.

Ahh the Owen/Ianto fightscenes. Poor Ianto and how dare Owen! I loved the whole 'Jack needs me' 'in your dreams. in your wet dreams where you're more than just his part-time shag'
OMG I can't believe Ianto shot Owen. Yes he deserved it but fucking hell I wasn't expecting that.

Bilis Manger is creepyscary... me no like him. Me also don't think we've seen the last of him.
The rift splintering and the Weevils and the Roman soldier and the plague coming through were cool... as were the UFOs over the Taj Mahal.

I loved how guilty Owen looked and how bitchy Jack was and reminded him at every opportunity. I almost nearly ended up feeling sorry for Harper.

Poor Gwen! Poor Rhys! I'm glad Rhys isn't fully totally actually dead because I like the two of them together. I also love the Gwen/Owen/Rhys love triangle and that wouldn't work without Rhys! LOL

I loved how Jack trusted/expected Ianto to stop Owen and how shocked they both were when he turned around and said no I'm helping.. not sure if Jack or Ianto were more surprised LOL
The whole mutiny made me go aww Jack but he was a bit of a bastard as he tried to split them all up again. Still can't beleive Gwen decked him like that 0.0
and then Owen bloody shoots him. In the forehead. Poor old Jack's gotta be getting tired of that one. Dunno why Gwen looked so hurt though, she's seen him survive that before. Now the others don't know the whole not dying thing and aww poor Ianto! I loved how he dropped to his knees at Jacks head *snuggles the woobie*
All their faces when he spoke and stood up were priceless!

Ianto helping Jack out... <3
And to them holding on to each other at the sight of Abaddon... so adorable those two are.
I love how its... how we're told they have that relationship but they don't feel the need to force the 'omg jack and ianto are gay lovers' in our faces, it' just there which is cool.

Meep to the big Abaddon... he was pretty damn cool. Loved the idea of him feeding off life and peoples dropping dead from his shadow.
Jack's 'i'm an all you can eat buffet' line made me laugh but biggermeep! at that scene between them altough yay he killed it but ohshit i think he's actually dead. he looked dead too.

Ianto breaking down in Jack's office, standing there with his jacket, crying and just inhaling his scent. Ok yeah a little brokeback mountain but damn if my heart didn't actually break. I just wanteto reach through the tv and give him the biggest hug
poor Ianto!

Gwen staying by his side that whole week was just adorable, how she believed in him and refused to give up. It worked. Like because of how Jack seems to trust her and opens up to her and she's repaid him by believing in him. It seemed real. Ok the sleeping beauty kiss was just way too fucking cheesy but meh can ignore that for the kiss that followed...

oh yes. on screen kiss between Jack/Ianto

Words failed. It was beautiful. It was perfect. It was natural. It felt right and Jack was so gentle and Ianto couldn't believe his eyes that Jack was alive and Jack just pulls him tight and holds him and kisses him and reassures him and i'm here and i love you and its ok

(stolen shamelessly off clarity_lore
Thats both the scene of Ianto with Jacks coat and the Jack/Ianto kiss

*snifflesob*
*loves

Jack forgiving Owen was another awesome scene too.

and the end.
oh fuck!
Jack's face when he twigged what was happening and then he just vanished and you could hear the TARDIS and OMG how long til the new Dr Who series starts because I don't think I can cope!

What's gonna happen in Cardiff though? What are the others gonna think? How are they gonna cope. Poor Ianto losing Jack again!

Can't wait til tomorrow night to watch the replay of those last two episodes because they seriously did kick ass!

Oh! And speaking rather long-windedly as I did about all things Torchwood, you may notice I have a new Torchwood moodtheme, courtesy of indiexicons

AND I have a gorgeously brand spanking new layout featuring the equally gorgeous Captain Jack Harkness, courtesy of photoshopranger
