Watching TV

Emily in work said to me today "you watch a lot of TV" and she seems to think it's weird that when I want to watch a show, I will start at the beginning and watch through it in order.

All I can think is "how else would I watch it?"

Yes, I watch a lot of TV. I have my Amazon Prime and my Netflix subscriptions. My TV has built in Freeview - and I've recently got a TV license. I'm busy falling in love with property shows all over again <3 But when it comes to fictional shows I watch, yes I start at the 1x01 and I watch it through.

I mean, sure I try and watch a lot of shows. Just look at my monthly round-ups or my Trakt or POG TV calendar profiles. And there's so much else out there I want to try.

I love stories, y'know? I also read a lot. It doesn't cost me anything more than the costs of my subscriptions. I love the fandoms that grow up around shows, the community. It's a great way of socialising with people without having to leave my house and actually see people! It doesn't cost me any energy to sit and watch TV. On bad days, it gets me out of my head.

And when a show like Supernatural or Leverage or Stargate grabs me and drags me into it and makes me write fanfiction it is so much love.
