Despite last night's temper tantrum over Mr Momoa cancelling SFCC, I want you to know I am still a really very very very excited llama over my forthcoming shenanigans.
(Seriously - just ask anyone I work with... it's all I can talk about)
Last night I was tired, I was in pain, I'd had a couple of days of bad anxiety and I was really looking forward to meeting Mr Momoa. I am, of course, a seasoned con-goer who's been doing this for well over 20 years and knows that actors do cancel conventions and I'm much happier that he's filming! Really, no-one is ever guaranteed for a convention until the second they walk out on stage to start their talk, or they're hugging you in a photo-op or signing something for you. I know this. I was just having a wee bit of a tantrum because it was sucky news at the end of a bad couple of days. It happens and I apologise for being childish over it.
BECAUSE!
In less than three weeks, I will be getting on a plane that takes me to San Francisco and to my Natalie. We shall then commence to do all the touristy things and go to Alcatraz and the Winchester Mystery House and and eat all the Ghiradellis (ok, so I will, not Natalie) and terrorise SF. And then.... then... we get in Natalie's car and we drive ALL the drives up to Canadia where we shall have a wonderfully awesome amazing weekend in Vancouver - and apparently there's a bunch of actors from some sci-fi show going to be in our hotel!
And do you know what? While I'm heartbroken that Amanda cancelled because Hi, I think we covered how much I love her, right? And I'm gutted that Michael's not gonna be there because he's the only one of the original 4 I've not met. There's been quite a few cancellations - but with a guest list the size of the one they've got, I was expecting it.
There's still plenty of actors and actresses I'm excited to meet, who's photos and autos I want, who's talks I'm looking forward to. Mind, Natalie and I could get there and the only actor who turns up is 'third Jaffa guard on the left' and you know what? We'd still have a freaking ball.
Of course, this is me and Natalie and we could shenanigan in the middle of a freaking vacuum!
