Somebody Like You

I think I give up uttering the phrase 'I'm having a quiet weekend this weekend' because the last two weeks that one failed.

Last weekend, Louise and Angie dragged me out to see Ash Cooper at Spode Cottage in Rugeley. Now, this is someone I've never heard of, but Louise had seen before with his band and so off we went. It was just him so it was kinda weird and it was all covers, a lot of which I didn't know because country but he had a good voice and I definitely want to see him with his band - I think we're going again in May.

Then yesterday, Luke & Mel post on facebook that they're playing Fort San Antone - I love seeing those two and it's a pretty smooth drive up to Warton so, hell yeah why not. Then Louise messages me asking if I want a car buddy, and then Angie's coming with us. We get there problem free, park up, get food and chill. Luke & Mel were, naturally, awesome. They did 2 45-minute-sets, all covers because they're not 'allowed' to play their own stuff at night like this. Again a lot of stuff I don't know but a few I'm starting to recognise so yay. I had fun watching the line dancers - they always look so SERIOUS. And there was a henparty who were also on the dance floor; some of them were trying the line dancing and the dancers were instructing them but mostly they were having fun and pissed off the line dancers. So funny!

The drive home though? Oh, there's a three junction section of the M6 closed, and you're going to divert us through Warrington adding an hour to our journey? And then the M54 is closed so I have to come down the A5, in the dark when I'm tired?
GREAT!
*headdesk*

Today, I'm sitting with my legs up. Fort San Antone is always really cold and I'm feeling it today in my hips and shoulders. I'm creaky as fuck. I'm catching up on all the tv watching this afternoon.
Yup, a nice quiet Sunday, if nothing else!
