It's the way you make me feel

One of my favourite things that I've done this year is rediscovered my love for music, especially my love for live music. I'd gotten very... hmm... jaded over the internal 'politics' of a lot of the fandom gigs, the utter clique-y-ness was bringing me down, and I was losing my happy place.

But this year, with finding and falling in love a number of new musicians, going to the gigs (and on my own, even!) I've found that love again. I even found I was able to enjoy the Kane/Steve/Jason/Riley gigs more because of it.

So who have I discovered this year? Emma Stevens, Gary Quinn and Raintown are the main three, of course. But also Hannah Jane Lewis, The Mandevilles, Stewart Mac, Jeannine Barry, Jack Omer and Daisy Chapman.
(Please check them out - they're all pretty kick ass, I promise!)
I've been to so many gigs as well: Jenn Bostic, Emma, Gary, Raintown (in various combinations), The Goo Goo Dolls, Christian Kane, The Life Of Riley, Steve Carlson, Jason Manns.

And new venues, mostly in Manchester. I fell a little in love with Band On The Wall in Manchester, and the Blue Cat Cafe. Those two, along with the ABC in Glasgow, have been amazing for accessibility - which, of course, is one of the things I base a judgement on a venue for. A lack of stairs (or a lift) is a wonderful thing, as are staff that have a clue <3

I'm finishing my year off, on December 27th, with Raintown at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow, with
spazzer_mctwich and

I cannot WAIT! It's gonna be the perfect ending of the year for me, y'know?
