Yesterday, mum and I toddled from our hotel in Bodmin down to the Eden Project - our entire reason for being in Cornwall. We got there like five minutes before it opened so we were parked way down in the Banana carpark (closest non-disabled car park, 250m from the entrance) not like when
spazzer_mctwich and I went and we were like a 10 minute park and ride trip from the entrance!
The place was so quiet all day, it was wonderful. Clear blue skies, hot sunshine but enough of a breeze. I was in
And I actually don't hate the picture - I can see how much weight I've lost and that I still need to tone some but I'm pretty happy with how I'm looking. Sure, I've got another 45lb to hit my goal and I want to lose 20lb before con2... but hey, that's not what this post is about and I even had to buy a hat (my scalp burns easily because my hair is dark and fine). I've got an annual pass so me + carer can go back unlimited times in the next 12 months.
We only managed to do about 2/3rds of the place. We did the flower-less garden (pre-historic pre-flowering, fascinating), health, dyes, paper, the spiral garden, seed, the plant engine, biodiversity, the water cycle, WEEEman, crops that feed the world, the garden, plants for taste and pollination. We did the Mediterranean biome and most of the Rainforest biome, but sadly the Rainforest wiped Mum out - we weren't able to do the waterfall or a lot of the second half of the exhibits, even had to take shelter in the cool room.
She has said she wants to go back so maybe in the Autumn to do the bits we couldn't do \o/
So, who wants to come visit the Eden Project with me between now and next May?
Then, last night (ok, this morning), was the Chris & Steve stageit. And ugh, reading the twitter-feed for a few minutes was enough to make me want to kill Kaniacs. Oh yeah, that's why I avoid fandom like the plague. *shudders* The way people bitch/moan/complain about every single fucking thing they do, or don't do, makes me wonder why the bother doing anything at all :(
I've definitely lost my Kane love though. Christian, if you remember, lost me as a fan the gig before Con1 and sure I enjoyed the show and loved hearing him sing the songs I love but the... zing wasn't there for me anymore. I ended up watching Steve more, and that's just wrong.
Random observations from the show mostly involved 'how anyone can think Christian is the dominant/force in that partnership is beyond me' and 'Steve really does not like it when Christian snarks back at him'
With a side order of 'someone's gettin' their hide tanned tonight'
*grins*
Then!
Most awesomely!
The Life Of Riley kickstarter came to it's close and they hit their target. $12400 they got. *twirls happily*
This makes me a most happy llama.
It makes my bank account sadly but hey!
I had a panic this morning though - checking my emails and the transaction was declined! Rang my bank and they'd flagged it as potentially fraudulent because of it being a high dollar amount. Got it sorted, made payment. Yay
*twirls more*
