If you chase two rabbits, you will lose them both

And that was Monday. It was.. lets just say it was a Monday!

I didn't sleep for shit last night because I'd flipped my mattress and couldn't get comfortable, which made getting up next to impossible this morning. I've jiggled the mattress around in its frame so hopefully i'll sleep better tonight.
Then I got stuck behind a bus on the way to work and was 5 minutes late - thank god for flexi-time!
I got to work and D had locked herself out of her system and was using mine - it took IT an hour and a half to reset her passwords, leaving me twiddling my thumbs.

I spent the morning continuing to reconcile statements. I'm getting quite good now at being able to search through the different databases and find invoices, which obviously has been the point. See, we've got three different companies we provide an AP function for, and there's three different databases per company that it could be processed through... but i'm getting to know the difference between companies and how to find it from the vendor number.

Plus I got to give voice to a usual/long-standing grumble about statements from factoring companies who don't make it obvious who they're providing a statement on behalf of *grumblemuttergrowl*

I have had great fun dealing with an especially pedantic credit controller. Right, so Alstom is part of the Schneider group, but we only provide a financing function for Stafford and Warrington divisions - all the others are self-financing so I do spend a lot of time contact different companies, explaining this, requesting a full credit and advising them to invoice the Schneider division directly. 99% of credit control depts are absolutely fine with this. But this one this morning, oh dear lord! I swear she didn't want the company to get paid or something.

I rang up on Friday morning to request a copy invoice, which she emailed over. I emailed her back about half hour later, requesting a full credit and that she should invoice the Schneider division directly. She emails back after I'd left on Friday requesting an address.

I mailed her saying the address to invoice was as per the installation address on the invoice. Figured that was simple enough, right? No, of course not! *rolls eyes* I then get another email from her saying As you are requesting amendments for this invoice I require a full business name and address please

I smiled sweetly at the screen and replied saying a full credit of [amount] against invoice [number] dated [date] is to be issued to:
Schneider Electric Energy UK Ltd
[stafford address]

and the address to be reinvoice to is:
Schneider Electric Energy UK Ltd
[division address]

I didn't hear anything back after that so I'm going to assume that's that and she's going to produce the credit/re-invoice.

The afternoon was spent with chase letters, advising payment dates and obtaining POs. I started looking at why things weren't paid, why things were on hold and who to contact if there was a problem... my brain, it sploded!

It was still sploded when I opened up Word this evening and went to get on with the next fill for angst_bingo

Having written nothing at all on Sunday and sat thinking about it for most of today, I've come to realise that I'm kinda sick to the sight of my bingo card. I was hoping that I'd get a black out done and I'm over half-way there; two lines complete and many other fills dotted around the card but no, I'm not gonna get the blackout done. I'm just gonna submit wiht the two lines and move on to the next item on the August to-do list. Hell, I may even write just a one off chris/steve just so i'm writing something i've not been poking at for two months already.
