I think I'm getting better at this whole budgeting my weekly shopping. It definitely helps that I work out what I need, then do a faux-online-shop using the ASDA website. That way I get prices and offers etc before I go, then write a shopping list using the app on my phone - including the prices - and make sure I'm not hungry. All common sense points I'm sure but heyho *blushes*
Today my budget was £10 and I spent £11.34. It's not MY fault that plums were on rollback and looked REALLY nice and fruit's healthy so, y'know, not really bothered. And, for the record, the plums are bloody delicious!
I had a very fruit/veggie filled trolley, actually. Mostly because I was doing a freezer stock so I had carrots and sweetcorn, plus those Birds Eye Steam Bags (carrots, peas & little green trees). I also got apples and plums and those garden gang snack pack
As well as burgers, fish fingers, chicken nuggets and sausages. And roast potatoes.
I exploded out of my freezer drawer though and into the other freezer. Four people, two freezers, half a freezer each and um yeah... If I'd had space I would totally have bought green beans too. Ice-cream was on roll back and SO tempting but nowhere to put it. Thinking about it, I still have pizza and diced onions in my mum's freezer. *headdesk*
Throw in the fact I did a cupboard stock up a few weeks ago and I'm set for... quite a while. Probably a couple months. Other than buying fresh stuff on a weekly basis, I'm gonna have to do a SHOP for the foreseeable future.
And when did I turn into a 'food from the freezer' girl? I used to be a 'food from tins' girl. Huh. I could still live on pasta though!
Why am I actually telling you all of this? I have no idea. Do you actually care? No, probably but there you go. I'm gonna stop rambling now and leave you with
