Sennheiser HD555s, Perfecting Coffee

I have proven that money can buy at least some happiness:

Sennheiser HD555s - an excellent way to spend $240. Only a fraction of what I earned over Easter (about 5 hours of public holiday pay). They sound truly incredible. From the first time I tried them out in the Apple Shop. They let e try them out with my iPod, and after trying them out on some of my favorite musics (Tool, NIN, Zep, APC and some others) It sounds awesome with all of them, with NIN in particular. Trent's music is so detailed and complex you need to listen with high quality headphones to fully appreciate it. Also encoding at a high bit rate is a must. TDS, and the bonus disk from ATCHB are especially amazing sounding. I am ust starting on The Fragile, and it is so far very enjoyable.

I think I just made the best cup of coffee I have ever made.

I used a special bean from Tasmanian coffe roasters, designed for strong coffee without biterness. It is from Papua New Guinea. It is double Roasted, they look very dark and oily. Nice.

I used a 4 cup stovetop espresso maker but only used the first 1/3-1/4 of the espresso that came out, because that is the strongest and least bitter. A lot of beans to make one cup of coffee, but I think it is worth it when 250g of the beans only costs $7.

The coffee was very strong, very strong, but not bitter. It was rich and smooth. It tasted as good as it smelled. It was milky, because there was not actually a lot of espresso in it, but what there was super powerful. I made a second cup with about twice as much espresso from the leftovers, and it was about the same strentgh, but naturally it had a lower milk to water ratio, and it was bitterer.

I love coffee, and this has been a very pleasing acheivement. I discovered the bean by having an extra strong Latte at the place where they roast and sell it. I asked the barrister which bean he had used, and then bought some.
