[34th Replay] Frederica Slumber Party -backdate-

Sep 21, 2010 20:55

[ This entry is backdated to Saturday evening.

Members of her household probably noticed Rika setting up for the party quite early in the afternoon. She bought some eggs, milk, etc. for baking and a few disgustingly sweet things --- and spicy things, for her own sanity-- to help keep Erika and her occupied. As evening comes closer, she has set aside ( Read more... )

[The bed!

The closet!

The laundry basket!

And any boxes, bureaus, or chests Rika may have.

She checks each one quickly and thoroughly while keeping in mind to 'keep the crime scene undisturbed'. She pats the bed to check to see if anything is hidden between the mattresses or underneath the blankets; she flops onto the ground to scan the underside of the bed. Nothing! She moves everything back to how they were.

She scurries over to the closet and throws it open. She looks behind the clothes hanging and beneath them; she skims through the clothes, but noen of them resemble anything she had seen Master wear. Nothing! She moves everything back to how they were.

She tosses open the cover of the laundry basket and shoves her hand through the clothes to...hit something that most certainly should not be with laundry. She tears it out! A wine bottle, which she had been expecting to find--after all, Vietnam had already told her Rika liked wine.

But. The wine...

Bernkastel?

She shoves the bottle back to the bottom. She moves everything back to how they were.

That was enough; she goes and plops herself onto the bed waiting for Rika to return.]

Bernkastel wine, my appearance but with master's eyes, and to have lived for over a hundred years without aging...

She is another piece or Master in disguise. With these clues alone, this level of reasoning is possible for Furudo Erika; what do you think, everyone?

[Of course, no one was there...]

I am back!

[ Rika is very careful when opening the door, balancing a tray with tea cups in a tea pot. She glanced around the room, but cannot see anything disturbed. tsk. So much for that method. She's certain that Erika has made herself familiar with the room, though. ]

I hope I did not take too long, Erika!

Oh, not too long at all. Oh, so you are drinking tea, as well...? I'm a bit surprised.

I do not want Erika to be lonely! If we both drink tea then it will become a tea party!

Yes, but with you as mature as you are, I would have expected you to drink an equally mature drink. Don't you think wine would fit a lady like yourself?

[ Drat, she found it. Rika tries to keep up her act regardless, and hide that she's a bit unnerved by how forward Erika is being. ]

Wine is very bitter. I do not very much like it. Why would Erika think I like wine?

Why, as I said: for a lady as old as yourself, wine is quite fitting.

[ Rika pauses. Old? Nothing in her room suggests her true age, does it? ]

... What makes Erika believe I am old enough to drink wine? I am merely a grade schooler.

[She

sips her tea.]

[ Rika's mind is racing. What in her room gives that away? Nothing, right? Then how could Erika know? The only way that information gets out is by word of mouth. Did Erika overhear an earlier conversation? She hadn't mentioned her true age, though.

She sips her own tea, trying to remain calm and collected. Because she's figured out the only realistic way Erika could know.

Did someone tell Rika's secret? ]

m-mii... Erika, is this meant to be a joke? Or did someone tell you a very bad lie? Whose joke is this?

Hmm? Joke? I didn't mean to seem as though I were teasing you. I apologize.

Your 'mother' here is a very nice woman.

[ Rika calms down. For now, maybe they can go back to pretending. She's good at that. ]

mi? My mother? Sen-mama?

Have you met her?

Oh, yes, just a few days ago. She enjoyed talking about you, just like a real mother.

[She sip her tea nice and slowly.]

Did she now?

[ Rika sips her own tea, finally relaxing. ]

I am sure she had very little to say. I have done little to make my Mayfield family proud of me.

[ on that note, Berri must go for the night! Sorry to keep you up so late! ]

Oh, no, no. She had much to say about you.

I see. What sort of things were so interesting that they were worth telling you, Erika?
