I sit still, impatiently awaiting the end of this boring lecture our teacher is giving on the first day. Already telling us what to do, how to act, when to speak...this is ridiculous. Shouldn't the professor be teaching us something rather then simply running their mouth for an hour? Nago is starving already. I have to gracefully attend classes

On the contrary, I believe that writing journal entries in class comes under the heading of passing notes, which has been frowned upon in scholarly settings even since I was alive. More importantly, though, such passive-aggressive defiance is beneath a student of this institution. If you have a problem with one of your professors, the responsible thing to do is to speak to him or her privately after class, and if you must complain about it, do so on your own time. If you wish professors to take your opinions seriously, they will be more likely to do so if you respect their rules, however arbitrary they might be.
Why wait until next year? There's no law against improving yourself now. Perhaps your boredom and depression would be alleviated if you took it upon yourself to tutor a student who is having trouble with that class. *ironic half-smile* Good works are a balm for the spirit, you know.
To set your mind at rest, you may wish to know that there is no way that a cat of pure Felis catus extraction to starve during a class period; if you are feeding him regularly and providing all his nutritional needs, there is no need to worry about his health.

I do not need to "improve" myself. I need to improve the quality of classes I take and tutoring a student is beneath me. I work hard for my grades and it shows as I excel in all classes I partake in, even the dreadfully boring ones. A student who is doing poorly is doing poorly because they decide to do poorly. There are no excuses...
You mustn't know Nago if you believe that way professor. You do not know me either so I do ask politely, leave the judgment for your classroom and students.

If it's necessary to complain over the school journals, that's enough for it to be necessary to speak to the teachers individually before broadcasting your feelings to the entire school during class time. This is a matter of common academic courtesy.
So you're allowed to make personal judgments based on your observations of the way others communicate and I'm not? Well, that's me put in my place, then. You jumped rather quickly from "next year I'll make the right decisions" to "I don't need to improve"; perhaps you'd like to think about which you really meant, and what exactly should be 'beneath you' as a student and as a human being, over a detention spent flattening papyri for my class.
[[Heh, she's not impressing him one bit, is she? XD Can he give her the detention? Otherwise, she can Slytherin her way out of it if she sounds plausibly (if only slightly) contrite.]]

My decision not to tutor is a personal choice and you being a professor should understand that hard work and perseverance bares it's own reward. That is why I believe a student should earn their own grades based on their own merit, not the help of others. There is no reason to get so hasty and throw detention slips around so needlessly. If you desire me to halt my entries focused on professors and the school, then so be it.
[[Rachel in DETENTION!?!? She is a brilliant student though. It wouldn't make any sense. And its her first offense, detention is a bit drastic lol. But hey, you are the prof, so its up to you.]]

If you will forgive an old ghost his pontificating, it would be wise not to be quite so certain that one's character is beyond reproach; that kind of thinking creates arrogance and may blind you in areas where you genuinely need to improve -- and we all have them, myself not excepted. However, I grant that I may have misconstrued your meaning.
Oh, I do. You should know that tutors don't exist simply to give an undeserved leg up to students who aren't trying; each person's learning style is different and some may learn better from reviewing in tandem rather than alone -- or from passing knowledge onward rather than simply accumulating it. However, that is indeed your choice.
And there, my dear *with irony that is not evident in his flowing script*, you misconstrue my meaning. Make all the commentary you desire, but writing to the rest of the school during class, no matter your opinion of the class at the time, is unacceptable. Surely you can see why.
[[XD! She is brilliant; he's just offended at her apparent lack of respect for teachers or care for the less intellectually fortunate and was using the threat to show how seriously he takes the matter (detentions in HP canon have been given for rudeness as well as school stuff). So, no detention! But I keep thinking how hilarious it would be if her cat were to meet his feral spitfire of a cat. *grins* He wouldn't mind discussing cat habits with her once this is over.
And hey, sorry if Bob seemed scary there. I'm not scary, so you can always tell me to get him to back off. ^___^]]
