The Gathering

Currently debating whether to go or not.
There's loads of friends and in particular our group not going, we don't have any particular ritual plans, I'm still not feeling too well and I'm just not sure it's worth the money.

It would kinda be a shame to not go as we've just invested in a new tent and a trailer to transport everything.

I know we're not there- I simply don't have the money because Lou and I have been alternating having jobs since about march and at this point I have about £150 of overdraft left to last me until September, which given I spend £40 per week on fuel and I still need to be able to eat is actually going to be way too tight just on running costs.

For those of us who don't go I am advocating some kind of low-cost not-Gathering get together.

Yeah, we were thinking similar.
We've just spent a whole lot of money on bikes so it would be good to not have more money to spend and also to get to use them a bit.

We'll see, there's an entire week of possibilities yet.

We did discuss going up to Alton Towers on the Thursday with Cat and Lyn and staying in the hotel before heading to the G so we could still do something like that but without the gathering bit.

from the Wangas we have myself, nutsack and possibly Jackwang. There will be crew there too I'll bet. And to pile on the guilt, I spent time making you a damned mechete! C'mon guys you know it will be awesome!

I'm not sure on the crew front either... Shanks isn't going, Gunn will probably be helping behind the scenes if he goes and think Shiva said she might not be able to make it either. Haven't heard anything from any others.

The other factor is Gwyn's dissertation for his masters which is due in September, to say it's not quite finished is a bit of an understatement.

I heard Faith on the radio this morning though and it did make me think it's been too long since I heard the necro-banjo version.

I'm sure that there's still enough fun to go round. That said, I'm surprisingly philosophical about the fact I'm not going. If that's surprising.

I actually ummed and aahed a bit about going, despite having already paid. Not sure if I want to pay the petrol, and I can't go until Sat morning anyway. But then decided it will be loads of fun so will go anyway.
