Good: I love my job. Everyone is fun, energetic and young. Everyone is resourceful. Since beginning my job, instead of drinking as a social gravy nigh nightly, I have a few drinks about once a week and hit the gym a lot more. My office allows a view of the crazy weather that develops over and around this city daily. It's nice to have purpose again after the meanderings and misdirection of the last two years.
Also good: Last night I bought tickets for a group of friends old and new to join me at
Tipitina's for a fantastic show opened by
The Soul Rebels and headlined by
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The show was fantastic. I danced, yelled and played human hub like I love to do. The night was grand.
Bad: Fucking Hurricane. Let's hope we get lucky.
Worse: A few years ago, my eldest brother was told that he had an 18 year old daughter on her birthday. She soon married and gave birth to an adorable child. I've met her once at a family gathering and although her path was off, I had hopes she would find her way. Several nights ago, all her problems were ended as she flipped her Lincoln Navigator into a culvert. Drugs are a suspected factor. Tonight I go to console my brother.
