I am now the proud owner of a Ruger P89 9mm pistol. A gun is something that I've always wanted to have, but never got around to getting. I believe firmly in the 2nd Amendment, & I also feel that people should have a right to defend themselves, their loved ones, & their property.
The way this economy & unemployment situation is going, I feel that some may start doing desperate, stupid things. And I have no intention of being a victim. So goes the Boy Scout motto, "Be prepared".
It's kind of like insurance...I hope I never have to use it, but it's nice to have there if I need it.
I know that guns are a hot-button issue for some. I've always known since childhood that guns were not to be taken lightly. My dad had guns in the home, & he made sure that I knew they were not toys. I took hunter safety, & have always understood the seriousness of firearms. I don't know what is wrong with kids today, if the parents are just negligent, or if they don't stress the importance to the kids, or what. Like the Spider-Man comic says, "With great power comes great responsibility..."
