Well, that's a devastating surprise.

So, Nina Dobrev just ANNOUNCED ON INSTAGRAM that she's leaving The Vampire DiariesAnd they are fools to keep going without her. I guess I know now that I won't be watching S7 of the show, no matter how much I love the other characters. It just won't be TVD without Nina ( Read more... )

I completely agree. You don't go on with her and her character, plus there have been many moments this season when I felt like they were reaching and should just wrap it up. I can't picture a show where Damon is alone without Elena, what exactly would be the purpose? And I really hope they don't turn her human and have Damon compell her to forget everything and go off to have a "normal" life with a human husband, dog and 2.5 kids. As much a I'll miss looking at Ian / laughing at Damon's sarcasm I won't watch with such a key element missing.

That would be such a cheap ending for them, especially based on the proof that she doesn't need her memories to love him. Ugh. If they do that, it will ruin the whole fucking show for me.

NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So the rumours were true, I suppose she had to come out and confirm it.

Yeah, they shouldn't have bothered with a season 7. But I will probably watch it anyway.

Yeah. I have really mixed feelings about it all.

Like on one hand, I'll probs keep watching because I've become invested in Caroline/Stefan and Bonnie, more so than I have ever been, and I'm not all together that surprised and was kind of expecting it to happen based on the fact that all the plot since 6x11 has been centered on Caroline, Stefan, Bonnie, and Damon doing things with Elena on the sidelines.

However.

I would probably prefer if they just wrapped it up at the end of season 6? Season 6 has been amazing, but I would feel satisfied with the story ending at season 6. Having it continue on is going to feel odd. Maybe I just feel this way because I ship Damon/Elena, and I'm not sure how their story will end up with this (I feel quite negative about that aspect of it, tbh).

Plus I guess I feel sad, idk, that Nina/Ian has anything to do with it? I mean who knows, and ultimately I wouldn't blame Nina if she left for that reason but I guess that's kind of sad.

Word to all of this, except that there's no way I can watch it without her. So sad, and I agree with all your points.

Oh, Kate, you know I'm deep in the pain with you. It's the worst possible thing I could ever imagine for this point in the show. And I too wonder why they announced it now, it seems odd, but must be calculated. To what end, I have no idea. D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D:
