I've seen a few other people with your condition on tumblr, and I've got to admit, I don't understand it AT ALL. In fact, I've often said, when I have my own world, they're all gonna look like Ian Somerhalder. That is how attractive I find him.

SO ATTRACTIVE.

But, while I love Paul Wesley's humor, I've never found him attractive, until now. I liked shut off!Stefan, and Silas, but there were no feelings before. Now, I have feelings every time the camera's pointed at him, and it's SO WEIRD!

The hottest, for me though? Even though he hasn't been like this in a while? Was the way Matt was with Caroline in s1. Like, carrying her home bridal style and cuddling in bed with her with all of his clothes on and literally *everything*. Total Master Seducer, right there.

I admit I've liked them all at some point, but Damon was always at the top of the list. In S1, I was way into Matt and Caroline, though, and even though I liked Tyler's storyline, I've always been bitter at him for breaking them up.

But after Damon, Alaric has always been my top shelf choice. Then Matt, then Jeremy. I did enjoy Klaus and Elijah during their stays, and Professor Shane, and I'm really liking Kai this year as well. They have a plethora of good looking men, they really do.

BUT NOT LIAM. Ugh.

No, I've always seen Stefan as TERRIBLY flawed. But I think I like that he seems to be more aware of his flaws now. It's Caroline, Caroline is who makes me see him differently.

I like the Stefan who loves his brother. I'm kind of hoping they build on that bromance. One of my pet peeves on this show is that they don't have alot of flashbacks to times before katherine. Like say their childhood.

Those types of flashbacks are problematic on several levels: 1) I don't think any of that stuff would propel the current story forward; the schism that Katherine created between them is when they got really interesting, I think before that they were BEST BUDS; and 2) What child actors could they find that would believably be able to create that? Because Ian and Paul are WAY too old now to do flashbacks to BEFORE they were vampires.

That's just my opinion, but I'm pretty sure that's why they've never done them.

It's scary, isn't it? I'm in the same boat--for years now, I've been shooting little daggers of frustration and hatred at Stefan whenever he popped up on my screen, and now he's turning into someone I might actually root for on the rare occasion. I feel a bit disoriented. ;)

I find comfort in the fact that this is no doubt Caroline's bracing effect on his character, and since Caroline is my queen of Dealing With All The Things Ever, I trust him in her capable hands. If she can't turn him into a likeable person, no one can.
