30 Days of OTP: Day Twenty-Three, OTP Because OTP (Because Who Would Even Argue)

I think of all the answers this one is the hardest for me because none of my ships are without other viable (and some very much preferred in fandom) partners, so when I was trying to come up with the right answer for this prompt, I was like, WHO WHO WHO and Josh and Donna popped in my mind. I immediately began to imagine the people who would argue that perhaps Josh was better paired with Amy (whom I did enjoy him with, NGL), but then all I had to think about was Donna's line about not stopping for red lights and I was reminded. Through seven seasons and thinking it was NEVER gonna happen, I always hoped; no matter who they paired either character with, at their base, Josh and Donna were just incapable of not being The Ones for each other.
And when they finally did get it right, they got it right-right. They even talked about how if they didn't determine just what this was, they would miss their window and another seven years would go by. And for me, that was enough. They danced around it for so long, but then they committed when it was time. Their power imbalance and watching them struggle with it, and seeing Donna seize the day, which Josh ironically gave her the power to do, while trying to keep her just a few steps behind him, was when it was time.
So for me they were, from day one, THE SHIP.
