Ooh, I like quite a few things in that one-shot. First, I like the angsty/sexual tension between Damon and Elena and even more so that they don't give in.

I also appreciate that the necklace was Damon's mother (and I, too, think he would give her something which used to be his mom's). BTW, thankk you for not making it an heart or another cheesy shape pendant. :P

And last but not least, as a French girl, I find the name of the restaurant very well thought. I love it.

Hello, French girl! :D Hee, that's a local restaurant to where I live in California, but yes, the meaning for Damon and Elena is quite significant.

I'm glad you liked Damon's necklace better on account of it not being cheesy. Thanks!

I think there will be lots of angsty-not-giving-in moments in S3, so this is just the first of many!

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

You sure got that done fast! I loved it, I can so see Damon giving Elena something of his mothers and Elena not wanting to wear Stefan necklace anymore.

When the plot bunny strikes, you're fortunate if you can get it all down immediately. Makes it better, in my experience! I'm glad you liked it!

This is lovely. And I hope it's true.

The idea that he would give her something like that just makes him seem more fragile and sensetive. I also like that you had them fight it, that thing between them. And that you had Elena not just accept Stefan back. There are so many thing that these two need to work through from even before he left.

I, too, would like to see something similar play out onscreen! Only 5 weeks to go!

And amen to Stefan and Elena's issues from before this whole Ripper thing!

I.CAN'T.WAIT.

But I have a feeling that, just like with everything Damon did, all Stefan's murder and mayhem will be forgiven by everybody including Elena.

This is one of my pet peeves with this show. The utter lack of consequences. I know Damon-haters allways harp on the fact that he gets away with everything, but HELLO! So does everybody.

Broken record is me :)

I think it depends on your definition of "consequences"--what do people want, Damon and Stefan thrown in vampire jail? Staked? Because then, you know, there'd be no show! I think their consequences are the weight of guilt they feel, and in Damon's case, not ever having what he wants, but not realizing it's partly his own fault; for Stefan, not being honest with himself--and other people--is what has led to this Ripper adventure with Klaus. I hope he gets a real character arc out of it--with growth and development!

♥! Love it, and shall tl;dr you accordingly.

I love Elena's anger and confusion and fear over Stefan, because she absolutely should feel all of those things. I love her inability to stay away from the Boarding House no matter what Damon does, and that even trying to convince herself of all the legitimate reasons she has for going visiting, she is still barely even fooling herself. I love how little it takes for this thing between her and Damon to ignite, how even their usual back-and-forth has become heavy with meaning.

Now that Jenna's dead, and Stefan's gone, and Matt won't have anything to do with any of them, the rest of them get together and be social on a regular basis.

I really liked this mention of all they've lost, and the sense of them as people who have survived a war and are now determinedly trying to keep living. Which is all true, of course, but I really liked this little detail ♥!

("You know him, he's probably planning on drinking too much," she said when Alaric's eyebrows went up questioningly.)Uh huh, I am ( ... )

I love your reviews because you always pick up on all the subtlety that I like to use. It makes me think you're smart, and I really like that! :D

I think my favorite part of the whole thing was Stefan telling her--it's just so characteristic of Damon to not take any credit for anything, not even the simple thing of, oh, here's this very important, meaningful thing given to me by the only woman who ever loved me that I am now giving to you. And how could either of them, Stefan or Elena, deny Damon what he most wants and deserves to have, IMHO, after everything? It just seems ridiculous to me that any of them will go back to how it was. *crosses fingers*

Unless it's a bad thing and/or could get him killed. Then he's all over the "It was me! Me, me, me! I did this thing!" Oh, Damon.

And yeah, you know I'm crossing my fingers right along with you!
