I'm not going to wax on about how amazing this story was... but I will tell you that I edited it for the first time while I was at my aunt's house sitting by the pool. I literally could not put it down, bb. Really. It was so provocative. Gah, I don't even know the right word to use to describe it to you. I'd never thought of Puck/Santana as a ship I could support until I'd read this, Candy. I seriously hadn't, and you just made it all crazy, awesomely emotional and heartbreaking.

You're the best. beta. ever. I'm generally a fan of my own writing, but you make it so much better, and I appreciate you more than I can say.

I've always been curious about Puck and Santana, just because I think I'm curious about everyone paired with Puck. But it was fun to delve into them, and think more seriously about their relationship. I ship them now too--and think Santana/Puck/Quinn could be just as good an OT3 as Puck/Rachel/Finn. There is just so much potential in this fandom!

I was just thinking again about how nice it is that you decided to dedicate this to me and how much I really love this story. And then I realised that I forgot to comment on something the first time around:

She'd even babysat Bekah with him a time or two (which was why she'd been pissed when she heard he was babysitting with Quinn...)

It's your eye for detail that lifts this story from being good to real, raw and amazing. The above line is a perfect manifestation of Santana's sense of ownership over Puck for me. Of why she feels the boy is hers. Yes, she is pissed that Puck cheated on her, yes she's pissed he knocked up Quinn, but what really sends her over the edge is the possibility that Quinn is replacing her in activities that Puck and Santana used to do together exclusively (and Q replacing her in general I think).

To see that she has made peace with the fact that Quinn is important to Puck (in whatever capacity that may be) at the end of the story, speaks volumes about the journey she has gone through.

He is disappointed.

I appreciate you picking up on those little things--because I certainly inserted them (or they sprang from the characters once I got in their heads) because they seemed important. Like why would Santana care that Puck was babysitting with Quinn--she did break up with him after all. It was fun to find the psychology behind her actions.

I definitely wanted to leave the reader with the hope that Puck was going to figure it out -- only because by then, you love Santana, and you want her to get what she wants, and she wants him, despite all his flaws. I love the idea of Puck even doggedly pursuing Quinn in S2, only to come to the sudden realization that the girl who has been there for him through all of it was Santana, and that's what makes her worthy of his devotion.

But you know, I totally ship Puck/Quinn. They're my OTP, so it will be interesting to see which direction the show goes. And there is a lot of Santana/Brittany shippers, so that could influence where they take her character, too.

This was absolutely FLAWLESS!! The intense, subtle, PERFECT!! This is the first Santana fic (Quinn's my favorite female character so most of the Glee fics I've read thus far have been Quinn-centric) I've read and I must say, if the others explore her character this deeply and are this well written, I'd love to read some more!! And you have Puck down to a tee!! I love how you had some "behind the scenes scenerios" between them to propel what's been going on in the show (e.g. having Santana suggest that he sing to Quinn about the baby), flawless :)

Thank you so much. I worked really hard on this story because it wasn't my ship, and I wanted to convince myself of it. I figured if I believed it, everyone else would buy it too. PQ is my OTP, but I could get behind the P/S ship if we were ever going to get any kind of real development between them.

There isn't a lot of representation of them in the fandom, but you can look at The Puck/Santana thread at el_puckerone. I remember someone making a list there.
