A few things...

...so I've postponed being a real author a little bit. I'll get to that over the weekend, most likely.

But first some fangirling stuff:
I had started writing an epilogue to the epilogue of It Happens on a whim, and because chapter_stork lurves Paul bery, bery much, and she was nice enough to treat us to the play we saw Tuesday night, I wanted to offer up something in return. What's funny is I didn't get too far because of the eye incident, but then we spent so much time talking about Kellerman and his many wonderfulnesses that I had a lot of ideas grow from that, and as much as I'd like to, I'm not going to write the Kellerman/Jane plot bunny she gave me. But I will finish up this little Kman/Sara fic for the purpose I mentioned already, as well as to kind of spur me along. More about that over the weekend.

Here are the pics chapter_stork's daughter took, and we aren't looking at her as they are being snapped. I think we're looking at Viva's husband, who had wrldpossibility's camera. Viva's other daughter had Viva's camera, and they were all clicking off like crazy, blinding us with the flash all at once. It was great fun!

This is very like the one already posted in Amy's LJ. Yes, Amy is super-tan. She is super-super tan when she stands next to me! *g*

And this is the one Viva wanted us to do, because we're monkeys or something! *g*

A few words about Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince
For me, none of them can ever be as bad as the Prisoner of Azkaban, so I knew I wouldn't hate it, but I also know I'll never love them so much, not like I love the books. So I go in expecting to be a little disappointed, because that's normal for me. But I mostly liked it. I would have liked more streamlining of actual events from the book, but as a Harry/Ginny shipper, I felt like the essence of their relationship was captured, especially because they didn't give Ginny much to do in the last movie (Order of the Phoenix), which is when she really shows what she's got. I think Bonnie Wright is gorgeous, and that helps since I'm shallow about my movie peeps. She has a quiet strength that I admire, though I find Ginny, in the books, anyway, to be a bit more feisty.

Harry is great, though. Dan has really grown as an actor and you can tell. Not to mention having scenes with great actors like Jim Broadbent to help out some. I liked Dumbledore more this time around, though I always miss Richard Harris. (RIP, old friend.)

My biggest complaints are the *new* scenes that aren't in the book--the Weasley's house burning down? Did I just forget about that? Have my memory erased? Erm, as Harry would say. Harry and Ginny running through, what was it? a corn field? What was up with Bellatrix and all her peeps flying around like black inky things? (I do love Helena Bohnam Carter, though, she's scary good. Can't wait for Alice in Wonderland!)--and the scenes that are cut from the book--no Dumbledore's funeral? Excuse me? No Harry telling Ginny they can't be together while he's out you know hunting Horcruxes? Oh, that's right, Harry and Ginny weren't really even boyfriend/girlfriend, they just snogged once in the Room of Requirement. And Snape's big announcement--I'm the Half-Blood Prince! Yeah, whatever. So not appropriate, or how it really happened.

The best part of the whole movie was when Harry drank the Felix potion, all the parts with Ginny, and Malfoy, who knocked it out of the park. His story arc is one of the best from Book 6 for sure, and Tom Felton did a good job. Oh, and Luna. Luna and her lion's head, Luna and her crazy glasses, Luna and her Quibblers, Luna as Harry's date for the Slug Club. Gotta love that Luna.

Your thoughts, fellow Potter-philes?
