Thanksgiving in Branson
Well, I must say, that after much deliberating about leaving my children on the Thanksgiving holiday,I put aside my guilt and had a really good time. Where to start...We arrived at about 2-ish and checked in. The weather was already getting cold, and a little drizzly. At the check in, there was a small craft mall that we walked around, and I got some fudge. We went to the hotel and checked in. Guess where it is? Right down the hill from the Moon River Theater. We could just walk to Andy Williams and back! Our Wednesday night show was just great. I had recognized some of the people in it from when we saw the show at Silver Dollar City. There was lots of music and comedy. We slept late on thursday morning, and then had a good Thanksgiving lunch at the Moon River Grill, which is a new restaurant built since we were there last year. As we sat down, looking out our window was the theater. then the waiter came over, he asked us, "What brings you to Branson?" and I pointed out the window and said, "That man right over there." And did I mention that Andy Williams was wonderful as always? Well he was! Then on Friday, we went out to the Landing, a wonderful mall area with lots of Christmas lights and music. We shopped for a while before we went to our presentation. It lasted too long, and we grabbed a pizza and took it back to our hotel to watch LSU, which had already started. After the game, I surely wished I had been back at the mall shopping. Oh, there was a drive through that we went through with lots of Christmas lights that I forgot to mention. We went through that after Andy Williams on Thursday night. Then on Saturday, we left early at 6:30 to get back in time for the McNeese game, which was not what we had hoped for either. I don't think in the future, that we will let football games dictate what we do on our vacations. Anyway, we had a really good time. The weather was cold, clear and Christmassy! On Tuesday, we had a good visit with Aunt Di and Aunt Judie when we spent the night in Quitman. Now, I must get my house cleaned and decorated by this wekend. My children are coming in.
